I am taking a stab in the air that you should be able to go to the device manager and disable the sound/mike/or whatever and then it should stop the problem. I would like if somebody in the know could confirm and or correct if I am wrong or right. I have had to do this on an older system before and it worked so just from what you told us I think it should work for you too.
