Lately it seems like we have been getting by a slew of seemingly younger players, and that is good right? Though that's not what this post is about. I have noticed they seem to come in to a map with gang busters and all of a sudden all kinds of shit is going on. It seems they bring their buddies and start a firefight and whats odd about it is the pings are outrageously high yet they can out run and out gun anybody in our server anytime they come on. Some of the shit they do is so far out there its hard to describe. Now don't get me wrong I am excited the next generation is finding the same joy and kicks we get out of this game. It just seems so strange that probably 7 out of 10 new players start out using some sniper rifle. Some of them actually do good enough that the place at the end of a map. I realize with the research I have done lately that the technology translates to pc games in a form that as it advances its much harder to detect. The more advanced the tech the more knowledgeable the player who uses it must maintain the skills to use them, that means our admins have big challenge ahead of them to keep the streets clean of all the rift raft. Again am I crazy?

I installed Glary Utilities and ran it. It fixed alot of registry probs but I still have a problem with windows explorer stops working! Any other suggestions!

If you are one of those people that are missing your nuts, there is a giant squirrel running around with this gigantic blade that has been snipping every nut he can find and hanging them on his wall. I remember on the original website we had a post running about "who you are and what you do". This way we would have a sense of when we played like idiots the name we just shot or stabbed would mean something to us and we could all have a big group hug! lol

I have it scanning right now and it wont be done til tomorrow morning. I will definitely install that. I had it before and when I changed to my new pc i forgot all about it!

Ok Labob I ran the scanner and found umpteen registry errors, so how do I fix them?

Labob Windows explorer and internet explorer are 2 seperate programs guys. What are you running for a virus scanner ? Turn the virus scanner off to see if thats the issue. try using msconfig to turn off everything you do not need. Here's a link to a good tut concern yourself with the part on startup . Labob I use to run AVG and had the problem and now I run Windows Essentials and it still does it. I also am well aware of them being separate programs as that is why I specified the Windows Explorer. I did the config before I posted this thread so are there any other suggestions?

(windows, sound, Video) Have you checked your error logs to see what codes it is throwing out? and i have to ask is this a cracked copy or store bought? also there is this fix. Click Start. In the Search Bar, type regedit and press Enter. Locate the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ SQMClient\Windows\DisabledSessions In the right pane delete this subkey: MachineThrottling Turn your computer off and back on for the change to take effect. But this is a old fix for your problem, they have since released a update for it. This an honest clean install and I purchased with a key code. Will try this Kash, thanks! Okay guys the problem starts when I open COD4MW. It shows up right after I go to the find game screen. It says,"Windows explorer has stopped working". It does it5 on other programs too, but I don't remember which ones at the moment. I went to both sites and I cannot find any diagnostics too0l that looks for and fixes this problem. I tried the "cmd" thing and on Windows 7 the selection that is given does not include the one inn the direction on the website Wildbill referred me to. Please help as this is getting really iratating!

About a month after I had Windows 7 64 Pro installed i begin getting this message every time in try tom do anything that takes a little power, "windows explorer stopped working". I googled it and on the websites said there is no fix for it at this time but its been doing this since forever. I love this OS other than that. Please help its driving me nuts!

I have the same problem Baldie. If anybody knows how to stop this I am more than willing to tryanything within reason

Artimus Prime, to begin with, you can't compare the two games at all. The spawning is different and the entire game is different. You asked how many times has somebody respawned in the exact place? Well let me tell you I have re-spawned at least 5 times in front of this camper and he shot me all five times. So it does happen. The point is it was changed and it was a valiant effort by Rugger but we are asking to put it back at least to where it was or even 5 seconds to allow them to flee the area. I don't set there anyway and every time I spawn close to someone I am dead immediately.

Well Mick it seems we're on the same thought level for the first time in eternity. You have finally come to your senses and figured out what aggrevates me the most. Corner hugging RATS! LOL! I for one wish we had maps that had nothing but short twisting hallways and no rooms every where just like a maze, but I know that won't happen, so when those maps come on and I have had my fill I go to spectate or leave period. I seriously do wish that we had maps thad had a variety od topigraphical features . That waym we all could play our style and have fun. It's just lately all the maps favor the corner campers completely. I play for stress relief and let me tell you playing where I am doing 90% of the action is NOT fun and stress relief! Mick you have my vote! On the other hand tho this means there is a lot of work open for map makers guys!

After much thought and of course spawning and dying instantly I thought it was time to get others opinions about the new spawn protection how it is working out. I know that many are not happy with it, but I will let them speak for them selves. I for one havfe spawned many times and dyed where i spawned without so much as a chance to run or flee the spot where i spawned. Rugger I really apreciate your efforts to find a happy median that works best for the greater good, but the 2 seciond rule isnt working toward that end. I say lets try something different or go back to the prior protection theme. Guys those of you who play here on the COD ACE please speak up and have your voice heard. Rugger wont make a change if we dont let him know we want change so tell him what you want.

My roommate tells me that there is a place in California Lompock (pronounced-Lompoke) that has all the aforementioned criterion. Only about 70-80 degrees in the summer and nice all yr long and its a relatively small town.
