  1. Time to shut the doors, lock them and begin revving the engine... Oh, and wave! Tree-huggers like that!
  2. I'm disgusted... No fries!!! This guy is a Japanese reporter who ordered 1,050 slices of bacon on his burger...
  3. Always have been and always will be!
  4. War, children, is just a shot away... http://youtu.be/R1JI7aMtazY
  5. And here's how they do it in the Netherlands! This is a personal favourite as I used to march onto a parade square to this daily!
  6. Oh, those crazy Germans...
  7. Turn up the volume, sit back and enjoy the best in England.... MUSE, Wembley, 2007!
  8. Ye cannae change the laws of physics! See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ping
  9. I'm with Jud. I look for melody, harmony, beauty in music, usually composed and performed by those with a genuine talent. How many rap "songs" (recitations?) provoke an emotional response like John Denver's (RIP) songs? I give you one that always brings a tear to my eye. Jud, you bastard, I f***in' hate you!
  10. By the sound of it, it is something to look forward to in a few years when she's old enough to enjoy feeding the ducks, geese and swans. But you'll need eyes on her all the time near the water and a buoyancy aid! Relaxing holiday?! I've seen so many couples, even with mother-in-law on board as baby-sitter, really losing it at locks. Talk about stress! You need a couple of suckers...I mean friends to do the hard labour! Navigation is a technical skill best performed by the man and is assisted by nightly infusions of real ale.
  11. To complete the hijack of this thread, time for some more Ivor Biggun!
  12. Rugger told me this was an "adult" clan. You mean you don't play naked like the rest of us?
  13. I got a couple of mates that live on the thames ... one in a narrow 56ft I think (dont quote me on that), and one in MASSIVE Dutch barge .. both lovely .. Would love to holiday in one .. but HOW FUCKIN MUCH ???!?!? ... I can go to the US stay 5* for the same money. There are some good deals if one shops around e.g. this 69-footer, 10-berth boat for under £500! http://www.waterwaysholidays.com/detail/nwsphynx.htm You won't get a week in the States for 50 sovs per head and there are no body cavity searches on the canals (unless you are elected skipper and stipulate they form part of the evening entertainment!). You also have to refrain from greeting other boaters with, "Wanker!".
  14. Lovely looking rowed barge but it has propellers at the stern so I guess there's an engine hidden inside it too. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/the_queens_diamond_jubilee/9214559/Queens-Diamond-Jubilee-barge-Gloriana-launched-onto-Thames.html
  15. WTF! No bar! Narrowboats rule!
  16. ...both of you! Welcome!
  17. Generally, people are warned when they stray into areas they shouldn't be so exploration isn't risky in itself. Now you have voice enabled within the game, conversation is possible, of course. I love you too, man!
  18. Him: "I dreamt of you in something long and flowing, last night". Her: "Really?! What was it?" Him: "The Thames..."
  19. If you think you may have epilepsy, don't watch this video!
  20. It reminds me of the Darwin Awards! I bottled out of watching the second video! I saw the domain name "snuffy" and decided not to click! The grenade throw could have been out of COD5!
  21. "An Austrian village with an amusingly obscene name has decided to throw in the towel and vote on whether to change it", reports The Register. Read full story here: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2012/04/17/austrian_village_confusion/
  22. By coincidence, this has been published by the BBC today... "Cockney cash: Lady Godivas and speckled hens Need a speckled hen and not near a cab rank, where do you find some sausage and mash? Why, you go to your local cash machine of course and, if you live in east London, you might even come across one which gives you the option of proceeding in a variety of languages - and offering cockney." Read the article here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-17535156
  23. Yes, Pete - that is why I included this very link in my original response... ( 36.57% is still shocking though workers pay around 31% here in income tax and national insurance contributions.)
