update:
stopped at the store to check on my comp. soon as i get there, one of the two processor cores crashed. at the time, they were running a cpu stress program and graphics stress program together. apparently they shouldnt have been running both together. possibly a false positive for the core crash. gonna test it for another day.
just out of curiosity, if the processor needs to be replaced, do i have to reload everything on my computer, or should things be fine, or is there no telling what will happen?
Sorry but how F******g stupid are they!
Check http://ark.intel.com/products/33911/Intel-Core2-Duo-Processor-E8500-(6M-Cache-3_16-GHz-1333-MHz-FSB
And look at the "TCASE 72.4°C" and are they dumb asses to kill your CPU?? 72.4 c is the MAX that CPU can handle.
They better have a company insurance if that happens to me.
But as in Windows, don't worry about it. The device manager will pick it up or you just have to do a manual update of the cores in device manager.
