That was, for the most part, a healthy and civil discussion, between parties of differing viewpoints. I appreciate everyone, for the most part, not devolving into silly name calling and belittling one another. I think we have tested the limits of such a discussion as far as we should, and so, I will now close this topic... which has largely gone off topic from the main point of the original poster, who did not question gun control but questioned why many people automatically assume that gun bans will be enacted after a tragedy like we just experienced, and why it would be the first thing thought of instead of the loss of life and tragedy that has taken place. We may have inadvertently come closer to answering that question, however, than any questions concerning the gun control debate itself.
