  1. Howdy all, This looks really cool: BF3 signature generators...it basically creates a "signature" for you, linked to your in-game profile http://www.enjin.com/bf3-signature-generator I'm sure some of you are familiar with this stuff.. HELP NEEDED!!!! You link your sig to your BATTLELOG profile and it generates everything according to your preferences (colors, what's being displayed...) and it gives you a link to add to your forum to make it display and auto-update.. I cannot get this to embed into the forum here...anybody know how it works??? Look at my forum sig, you'll see I got a line of HTML or something that doesn't show properly... It should look like something like this:
  2. congrats bro! You got your hands full...wait until they ask for gaming rigs and multiple copies of the very same games! MOFO
  3. Try to run the games with V-sync ON....that way, the card will be pumping the appropriate amount of FPS (60 frame per second)...that way, the card won't be running full tilt, so the temperature will be LOWER.... single player is probably locked at 91 FPS by default...most multiplayer gamers crank the FPS a lot more in the MP version of the same game...that MIGHT explain why your card doesn't like MP...only an HYPOTHESIS.... see if it changes something for you.... It's always good to monitor in-game video card temperatures in REAL gaming scenarios...use MSI afterburner (FREE), look for the OSD (onscreen display), display GPU temperature.... That 260 might be jam packed with dust, and doesn't cool well anymore...
  4. baldie WOW I just ran MSI afterburner and during the test my gpu hit 81*c and was climbing fast Ok its got to be a temp issue my GPU hit 92*c and pcb hit 71*c and my screen started to play up and freeze and the temp was still rising Humm... don't run KOMBUSTOR...that test is REALLY too demanding and doesn't represent a real gaming load... Try to use OSD (on-screen display, and pick GPU temps)...so the temperature will be displayed on screen during gameplay...
  5. baldie Cheers Guy's and at Idle cpu min 28*c (83*f) max 33*c (83*f) gpu min 43*c (109*f) max 53*c (127*f) as of 10 min ago I must admit I am worried about gpu temp am I right in thinking its too hot oh and my vid card is ASUS Ok, honestly, 53 degrees celsius is NOTHING for a card like that. Actually, the GTX470 is a power hog and runs REALLY warm...if yours runs at 53 max, you got the coolest one ever...so, I think you might not get the max temperature reading.... But, if you use EVGA precision, or MSI afterburner, you can run the in-game overlay, and monitor your GPU temps DURING gameplay.....that is the only reliable reading IMHO (trying to help as best as I can). The ATRIX power supply, tho....I'm not sure...don't mean to offend..but it's nowhere close to be a reliable brand....a quality 500Watts PSU would be better than this...the 720watts rating is overly optimistic. That being said, i realize money doesn't grow up in trees...don't mean to offend...a decent PSU is worth $75 minimum... AFAIK, there is no UL certification on this thing. I think the PSU might be tripping a RAIL, which resets the rig... so, my verdict....too high in-game temps or PSU crying for his mom... BY THE WAY, thermal throttling on a GTX470 should occur between 90 degrees and 105 degrees celsius...and complete thermal shutdown at 110 to 125 degrees celsius.... so it might be your PSU taking a dump....but monitor your in-game temps and report bro!
  6. baldie - Computer advice needed please Ok guy's I had problems with battlefield 3 crashing my comp so after loads of trials and different fixes I decided to bite the bullet and format my HD and upgrade from win7 32 bit to win7 64bit upgraded every driver to the latest version I have no anti virus installed and basically running a bare system apart from cod4 which is working brilliant. So I started playing it tonight for the first time since I upgraded to 64bit and for 30 mins great no problems then all of a sudden without warning my comp locks up then shuts down . I am all set to give up and just stick to bloody cod 4 and crysis 2 EDIT .....I do not know if its related but just played our cod mw server and kept getting what appeared to be CI's.. Don't quit just yet! What's your graphics card and Power supply (exact model and brand)? do you monitor your temps in-game?
  7. [b30]Goat I did the update and the game takes longer to load and the game crashes about 10 minutes in a match. Anyone having problems like that? It was playing great last night no problems at all with the new geforce 570!! Crossing fingers here...downloading again...98% done... two 560Ti's here
  8. well... for a spot, just get on teamspeak 3 (or Xfire) , in the BF3 channels and lokk for me (CplMOFO), Ukildme, St33l or Cobryis....we are the 4 admins that can kick and make a spot for ya...
  9. Maybe it's time for potential buyers to consider trying an SSD! Crucial M4 and Intel 510 based on MARVELL controller are great and reliable..you know...(the Sandforce offerings on the other hand are still a little flaky in terms of reliability, so I don't recommend them) The HDD situation keeps getting worst... FROM TECHREPORT: PC makers turning to gray market for hard drives by Cyril Kowaliski — 9:34 AM on November 4, 2011 It's no secret that the flooding in Thailand has had a disastrous effect on hard-drive supply, causing shortages and hiking prices. Now, DigiTimes says PC makers have gotten so desperate to stock up that they've turned to the gray market, using unofficial channels to get their hands on remaining drives: The sources described the brand vendors going into a "panic" to fill their HDD inventory. Most have repeatedly placed orders to HDD makers with combined volume already double or even triple their usual demand, but since HDD makers can only reply that they have no more inventory, or cannot provide their supply status, the vendors have turned to the gray market. That reported rush has been so extensive that, according to the supply-chain sources quoted by DigiTimes, gray-market prices for 320GB and 500GB drives have roughly doubled. The site quotes figures of around $60-70 for 320GB models and $100 for 500GB drives. Yesterday, DigiTimes reported Western Digital and Samsung wouldn't be supplying hard drives to the Taiwanese channel this month. The shortages have affected everyone, though, and things must be tough for PC makers around the globe.
  10. 2cuteSue Just got my game... Installing now.. Any advice or updates, patches i need? well, there has been a few patches out already, but they should be embedded with the downloads. On top of that, there is new videocard drivers out there that came out for BF3 support....nVIDIA 285.62 WHQL and AMD/ATI 11.10 FINAL.... Good luck, the game is awesome, but there is a few kinks to iron out still (sounds familiar I know)... MOFO
  11. kswift420 just got the game and i must be an idiot because im lost dont know what to do or even how to find our server wtf this is about to piss me off!!!! HELP lol...Swift, what's that avatar again, haven't seen the exorcist "the movie" in a while...she seems to be suffering lolz alright... the server is to be found using the server browser (part of the BATTLELOG interface) Try those search criterias...Conquest LARGE, Punkbuster, and type >XI< in the search bar...then click on the server.. You can also add friends in the Battlelog (bottom right of screen...look for COMMS CENTER) pop that up, and add friends... most guys got their name like that ...name_XI Report and return sir!
  12. Hans I like waiting! But the game is killing me...it still says "ready to install"...no more game icon/Battlelog showing....
  13. Humm... Was it a ranked server?
  14. Thanks for sharing! I had to right click on my BF3 game icon in ORIGIN and pick "repair" game...it did install a few things. I don't know if it's an isolated case or everybody is going thru this...
  15. Primal, good work! I know Evil-monkey has issues with his nVIDIA setup...that might help him out!
  16. ROCKAPE Awarded You're the man! Seriously!
  17. RockAPE, if you see this, get ready to hand-out a crate-full of "whiner" medals!!! Hans needs the first one out of the box...
  18. Heffalump hell yes, get it in the rotation WUT? Like I said, only a 32 slots server can be ran in MIXED gametypes...as soon as we can get another server we'll see!
  19. Gump Some people that are having problems with this game have had some luck turning off SLI or backing off on the overclock. Well, SLI gets disabled by default on new driver install, so you have to re-enable it. My 560Ti's in SLI are factory overclocked, like Monkey's cards, and I have no issues....strange anyway...gotta be a monkey in the case lol... BALDIE...sad to hear that you got Win7 32 bits (which sees 3.2gig of RAM only)
  20. [b30]Goat I think a mix would be awesome. I cant wait for my new video card to get here so that I can see the game like it was ment. Our server is a Conquest 64 server....you CANNOT run any other gametype than conquest in 64 players mode....this is the explanation on why this is not feasible to run a mixed server with 64 slots.... We're looking at MAYBE adding another server (32 slots MIXED). Wait and see!
  21. Evil, There is JUST something wrong with a software implementation (driver or whatever). I know it's a piss off, but you'll get thru... Your cards are enough to run the game at high settings at 1680 X 1050, maybe even 1080P... I would recommend running driversweeper, scrap all nVIDIA drivers, reboot, and install 285.62 again..... Unles you thing one of your card is unstable for some reason, it's NOT the cards....your dual 460s are as strong as a single GTX580....period. Unless you try to run all maxed out (Ultra settings+2560 X 1600 rez) you're golden.... Now, gotta find the software glitch! Cheers! MOFO
  22. We go by _XI at the name of the guy....my name being CplMOFO_XI
  23. Well, to rectify, if you change the required amount of players needed to start a server, this is cutting out off of all the quick match traffic that makes the server populated quick...so, this is a catch 22... if you change one value, you lose a LOT of traffic, which makes our server ranking 111th already...the server is populated a lot because it uses the nominal rules set.... Also, DICE created a minimum amount of players on server to avoid STAT BOOSTING....like a few friends killing each other to unlock weapons quicker, rank up quicker...Black Ops was like that...but you could at least move....
  24. Actually, I've received the same message a few times..."kicked by admin"...lol unless the other head admin is giving me the boot (Ukild, you b!!!!!!!).. Seriously tho, it was a punkbuster issue...if you want to make sure your PB is up to date, go to EVENBALANCE and download PBSETUP... You'll install that, will pick "add game", choose BF#, and punkbuster will manually update the files... for the platoon: Xtreme Idiots....the one with the black box with white XI letters (and the mention "PC")...the other XI platoon being tagged XBOX360...
