***final*** BF3 GPU and CPU performance guide
CplMOFO replied to CplMOFO's topic in Battlefield 3's Battlefield 3 Discussion
X-RINGCUTTER>XI< OC'D 560ti's should beat that weak ass 590 lol but yes screen res is the main variable but if you weren't overclocking the cpu and had 2 strong cards, it would bottleneck. On stock speeds it would cut fps but you are also right fps won't go up much going from 3.6ghz(mild) to 4.2ghz(high as most 920 will go on air cooling). The price of any 580-590 or 6990's or way too high! IMO X-ring, I'm still staring at your freakin avatar....... -
***final*** BF3 GPU and CPU performance guide
CplMOFO replied to CplMOFO's topic in Battlefield 3's Battlefield 3 Discussion
Heffalump Well Mofo, i took your advice and ordered the dual bios Sapphire 6950 2048mb twin fan edition Dirt3. With me Tuesday, thx for the advice You'll like it! it's got a pretty good review from HardOcp: http://www.hardocp.com/article/2011/07/25/sapphire_hd_6950_2gb_dirt_3_video_card_review/1 With a 2GB frame buffer, you should run the game on all HIGH, with a few ULTRA settings, especially with vSYNC enabled... I'm an nVIDIA guy myself, but this Sapphire card you ordered did really a good impression! A trick with the 6950 mods tho... you can mod the card to enable all the shaders, but you don't want to mod the memory.... I think that the dual BIOS switch has the already-loaded tweaked BIOS (to turn the 6950 into a 6970 "shader-wize") Enjoy! -
***final*** BF3 GPU and CPU performance guide
CplMOFO replied to CplMOFO's topic in Battlefield 3's Battlefield 3 Discussion
X-RINGCUTTER>XI< good review but no overclocking on the cpus doesn't show true performance. If the used the 3gig version of the 580 or evga classified 580 card it would smoke the crossfire setup listed at the top of gpus. My 470's perform better than the test results on ultra setting and with 2xmsaa, I never go under 60fps @1920x1200 Well, This post could be a melting pot of all the reviews/benchmarking about BF3 (release)! Like the old saying says: your mileage may vary! I also get numbers a little different that what's in the review... (dual 560Tis here) But, while you're partly right about CPU overclocking, indications tend to show that any quad mildy clocked would be enough and won't lead to FPS increase...BF3 is a lot more GPU dependant. For the graphics cards, and the EVGA 580 3Gb...well, pretty limited edition, and the price is retarded. I was the proud owner of an EVGA GTX590 classified for a few weeks and although that card was powerful, I get the same 3Dmarks11 Pscore with my two 560TI's Twin frozrII OC...of course it's all resolution dependant...... That being said all info is beneficial to the people shopping for new hardware! -
To add-up to this, Thanks for all XI members playing Battlefield 3 and enjoying the new game, great graphics, 64 players madness...thanks for your patience in relation with the issues the servers are getting... The server keeps resetting, we all know that by now. It's happening to a LOT of servers. so, I realize people are pissed, but as there is nothing we can do until it's fixed on DICE's/Gameservers end, well let's not turn our TS3 channel into a whine-fest. It's being looked into. It's game release...people have to get real...no more games will come out 100% functional anymore. Games are becoming more and more complex. BF3 offers 64 players batttlefield experience, that why we bought the game. but it's a lot more complicated and demanding on the server hardware/bandwidth/internet connections and everything... no fire without smoke (according to the old saying)... Games like COD Black ops teached us one thing...if you dare buying a game on day one, be ready to BETA test...get ready to search/try/reset/reload/tweak...and wait... If you can't stand software instability, WAIT IT OUT!

you think i can run it?
CplMOFO replied to Hemps's topic in Battlefield 3's Battlefield 3 Discussion
Hemps, Sad to say, but you'll eventually have to consider a GFX card upgrade if you want to enjoy BF3....not too sure how BF3 looks on LOW, prebably not too bad, but get at least a 6870, if possible a 6950 if you can (and want to stick with AMD)...on the nVIDIA side of things, a GTX560 is where you want to start looking I don't particularly like Tom's hardware, but this guide is well made, and covers FPS for single cards and SLI/crossfire setups.... http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/battlefield-3-graphics-performance,3063.html -
Have a good one Cpl!

So, after all this what is the verdict? The CPU was ok?

XI BF3 Server Question
CplMOFO replied to PrimalFear's topic in Battlefield 3's Battlefield 3 Discussion
PrimalFear I'm totally patient and really not even worried about it to be honest I was just curious as I stated, had a conversation with another member who had mentioned it and thought I would ask, nothing more. I'm afraid you misunderstood my position. Thank you for answering the question though, the situation is exactly what I thought it was, I'll pass along the information. Lol, I'm just saying...the days of having everything working right on day one are long gone. Now, every game seems to bring it's share of teething problems.... DICe flew "phogue", the programmer of PROCON from Autralia (his home turf) to Sweden (DICE's HQ) to get him to learn on the BF3 RCON particularities ONLY 2 days before launch.... -
XI BF3 Server Question
CplMOFO replied to PrimalFear's topic in Battlefield 3's Battlefield 3 Discussion
PrimalFear - XI BF3 Server Question This is just a question, everything is new so it would be unrealistic to expect anything, but I wanted to ask anyway. Is there a process to get on our BF3 server yet? I assume no passwords yet, but is an admin even able to assist with this yet or still just gotta wait it out? It's full and can't get on right now. Like I said just a question not a demand or anything, thanx in advance Sad thing...game as been out for two days and our members areb eing impatient already? To answer the question, it's a matter of server control. DICE has been really secretive with the BF3 launch and DIDN'T release server files to programmers/developers of RCON (server control software) until just a few days ago...they scrambled to make something up, but with defects, bugs, and no hosting services as of yet. So no fully functional/reliable. That being said, 99.9999999999% of the time, you'll be able to join at map change....and while you do so, there is admins working on a solution... Once a proper RCON is working and hosted, it will be done (a matter of days really).. In the meantime, patience young padawan! -
BF3 Installation Issues
CplMOFO replied to deerejon's topic in Battlefield 3's Battlefield 3 Discussion
Actually, some of you people noticed that there was an activation error message on Origin last night...stuff they're working on... -
Sonovabich Our server was empty all day yesterday (the time i was online anyway) hope we get more Europeans playing or i will have to play elsewhere, i think they scored an own goal with this not letting you play until there is 8 people in the map, nobody is gonna sit around in an empty server on the off chance another 7 people are gonna come in Well, Sonova, if you say that nobody is gonna sit around to populate, well some idiots with dedication will have to do it. Actually, that is a really good "action", the right thing to do, to get the server started. If not, why do we run servers? If the minimum player requirement is lowered, you lose the quick match traffic as a result...not really a better proposition.

B3 Finding the XI Server
CplMOFO replied to ukildme's topic in Battlefield 3's Battlefield 3 Discussion
tsw 8.5 played it to night ..but all i have to say is LAG..LAG game will get better i hope ..it is fun some things are not as i thought ..but that is how they get us in the game ..say 1 thing and give you some thing different ..but i hope it gets better .. TSW, To be honest, I played 12 hours yesterday. I lagged (rubberbanding) on three or four maps during the 12 hours gaming time for me. Not bad for a launch day. -
