  1. Jaka you're not going to be banned because you're a good player. We don't operate that way here. I play Ace Mod and COD2DM exclusively. There is a large difference in the servers, i.e., few if any whiners at COD2 but lots of them at COD4. I've cautioned several to STFU and as you can see by these comments Jaka, we have a policy on complainers and they will be dealt with, regardless whether or not they're XI. That said, we have removed good players who did not break our primary rules. We did so because their presence on servers ruined game play for XI members who own and pay for these servers, and that was because they argued back with the complainers and created a problem, instead of just reporting the whiners to an admin. So keep your cool and don't let the whiners get to you. Your response should be limited to informing them that you will report them for accusing you of hacking, then say no more and report them. We'll handle it.
  2. Two years ago bought a Dell XPS 630i with dual GTX9800s. It constantly locked up with SLI enabled - there are dozens of such complaints on this system at Dell's support forums. I replaced the power supply, HD, both GPUs, upgraded OS, reinstalled OS, disabled onboard sound and put in a sound card - all in response to various suggestions; also dicked with voltage to various components, swapped memory, etc., all to no avail. So just for shits&grins I e-mailed Dell to complain and they responded that I had done son on the very last day of my warranty - I thought the warranty had expired after a year. So then sent a tech by for a mobo replacement which didn't fix the problem. Just got an e-mail from them that they're replacing this two-year-old system with an Alienware Aurora. Don't know what model it will be but with an Aurora, doesn't really matter. It's gonna scream. The moral of this tale is never give up. Pretty generous of Dell as well.
  3. About time Weed. Welcome aboard!!
  4. Great to have you aboard the Good Ship Idiot. Go forth, and kick ass some more....
  5. Welcome, and pay no attention to that man behind the curtain (Little Rascal.) We have what we call "freeze servers" where those among us that didn't get past second grade go to play stupid games with each other. Heh heh: they turn each other into blocks of ice and then they unthaw each other. Ain't that special? I see you already play with the men on COD2 DM; Cya there.
  6. All the best on your 50th PMan. You're a great guy, and a man among men on XI. Glad things are working out OK.
  7. Cavey: don't be getting into his porn.
  8. Great to have you with us, especially in COD2. BUT, be careful of some of these Idiots. One of them might say something like: welcome; can we see your tits? I wouldn't do that. But there are some in here who would.
  9. I wouldn't think it would be the same mobo after two years, and a ton of problems with the original. My assumption is that mobo is no longer available and the Dell tech will come in with something else - which probably means a new CPU and likely memory. From what I can find googling this, if it's the same chipset (Nvidia) I should be OK. If it's not, I probably won't be. I've e-mailed the Dell tech to see if they can tell me what the replacement mobob will be so I can prepare for it. If it requires an OS reinstall, etc., I want to have a new HD sitting there so I can put my current HD in as secondary, and not have to back up data. I'll have to reinstall everything but I'll have all the upgrades (COD for instance) available on the old HD. If it's a later mobo with the same chipset, from what I read I should be OK using the same HD. Some peeps recommend uninstalling/disabling all hardware in device manager prior to shutting down and swapping out the mobo, and I should be OK. So I was just wondering if anyone's gone through this and how it worked. Thanks all...
  10. My daughter's 40 and has made four attempts. She's with us now and we're hoping for the best but you get up every morning and wonder. It's a hard road. So sorry WiZiD...
  11. It definitely won't be the same mobo.
  12. For two years I've been trying, w/o success, to get SLI working on a Dell XPS 630i. Enable SLI, and I get hard locks. The system has had plenty of problems including that Dell modified the mobo and fixed PCIe lanes at 8 rather than 16. I figured my one-year warranty was long gone but for the hell of it, I posted the issue at Dell and a tech replied that I had filed on the LAST DAY of a 2-year warranty and they were sending a tech out next week to replace the mobo. Question is, has anyone replaced the mobo on W7 using current hard drives and if so, how do you do it? I DO NOT want to resinstall the OS and a shitload of games and programs, and I'd like to have some answers if the tech shows up and tells me I need to reformat or some shit. Thanks all. Harry
  13. Another Canadian friend - delighted to have you with us. Hope to see you in the DM servers.
  14. You are now bound to XI for life. If you attempt to leave again, persons from Detroit or New Jersey will be paying you a visit with baseball bats. Good to have you back!!!
  15. Nitro, Harry was wondering where his Weezer went. Guess I left it in the frying pan.
