Here are some series that I liked but a selection maybe more aimed at women since my wife and I have to find things that we can watch together (and not already quoted above)
So, no vampires, super heroes, space shuttles , not much blood and violence either (except in a light way Outlanders and House of Cards) - I watch these all alone or with my kids... ?
On Amazon Prime: The Marvelous Mrs Maisel (very funny and Rachel Brosnahan is so good) and Carnival Raw (very creative)
On Netflix: Outlander (not porn, sorry guys, but sexy in a way! And so nice with the Scottish accent and expressions), Suits (if you have got a brain lol), Poldark (OK if you like historical series), Downton Abbey (we like very much English series and mini-series like Endeavour, especially from the BBC - there are very good TV movies based on Dickens novels and of course Jane Austen's but I don't know if you can find them on Netflix or Amazon except Price and Prejudices the movie), Gossip girls (for New York and the sexy Blake even if it goes round and round after few seasons). We had prejudices against Friends, thinking it was a low level soap series and never giving a real look at it. But, it is in fact very funny, the casting is very good and it is a feel good series (as it is for Mrs Maisel). Very helpful in the situation. House of Cards is a good one as well but on the black side of the force lol!
We just started Gilmore girls which seems OK, the two female characters being lovely. And, cherry on the cake, there is a French man with an awful accent like mine
