Uggg.... Steam.... Sorry Mark. Don't know much about how Steam works but almost sounds like maybe a memory issue of sorts?? Hopefully someone here will have a clue, I've never seen that type of error before. Perhaps try uninstalling the game and Steam and re-installing both. Also check to, make sure you don't have any other version of COD5 installed (ie. from the disk I mean).

It's generally caused during a map change and/or if you have to download a custom map. There is no fix for this, it just happens. When you get this error, it's possible your game key is still logged so exit the game and try to rejoin. A recommendation for future, during a map change, be sure not to hit any keys on your keyboard. I find that this also seems to trigger these unhandled exception errors.

When you uninstall the game, back up your profile but be sure to manually deleting any remnants of the game that the uninstall may leave behind. Like I said, not sure how Steam behaves but know that with a normal installed program, sometimes files are left behind after an uninstall. Good luck.
