You will find a great bunch of guys and girls here and helpful if you run into any gaming or other tech issues. i might also suggest getting their XI Downloader program for getting the latest server maps rather than download them during the game. What version of windows are you using? are you using windows media center or just the media player?

your HP case is classed as a mid-size ATX so a standard ATX PSU should be ok. However, before buying any PSU, double check the physical dimensions (heigth, width, and depth) to make sure it would fit properly. If you need to, measure the size you have now and that will give you an idea to what you can fit in your case. as others have stated, don't go to cheap and go with a bit more power than you may need right now with thinking of future upgrades. modular cableing is also nice and clean but not necessary and look for one that has a 6 pin PCI-E power connector.

Got it and installed, running windows 7 pro. only issue was that is took a couple of attempts to download through windows update but other than that, all is good.

I found this little blurp on a forum that some say have worked without having to go into safemode. Worth a shot. "Run Internet Explorer, Click Tools -> Internet Options. Select Connections Tab and click to Lan Settings button. Click Advanced button to open Proxy settings. Copy and paste the following text into “Do not use proxy server for addresses beginning with:” go.trendmicro.com;www.myantispyware.com;www.malwarebytes.org; Click OK to save Proxy settings, then Click OK to close Lan Settings and Click OK to close Internet Explorer settings. Download HijackThis from here. Once Save dialog opens, you need first to rename hijackthis.exe to iexplore.exe Further click Save button to save it to desktop. If you are using the Firefox, then you need right click to the above link to open a Save dialog. Run HijackThis. Click Scan button. Select entries that looks like: R1 – HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyServer = http=127.0.0.1:{RANDOM} O4 – HKCU\..\RunOnce: [{RANDOM}] C:\ProgramData\{RANDOM}\{RANDOM}.exe Example: R1 – HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyServer = http=127.0.0.1:49512 O4 – HKCU\..\RunOnce: [kEdGm06300] C:\ProgramData\kEdGm06300\kEdGm06300.exe Place a checkmark against each of them. Once you have selected all entries, close all running programs then click once on the “fix checked” button. Close HijackThis. Reboot your computer. Go to step 2 above."

Are you able to run msconfig or access the registry directly to see if there are any new entries in the startup that you could disable? If possible, try disabling or removing program entry and rebooting.

When you do get your profile going again, either new or the lost one, try the XI Downloader program the XI team developed as it has a profile backup utility or if you prefer something else, there are programs like Allway Sync. Depending on your needs, consider adding a second hard drive to back your stuff up on to. Good luck.
