The way it has been in the past.. AMD are closer to their max clock speeds out of the box compared to Intel's. Intel has a larger buffer before reaching max clocking speed making them a better chip to overclock compared to AMD. And just because I have have about the exact same system as @@Mule running a i4790k, Same case, same CPU and Same Cooling system... does not mean either of our chips will do better than their other at overclocking. It is a chip by chip basis. Some are better quality than others.. just like a diamond. He might can push go 4.8mhz with stability and I might not get past 4.6mhz before I start experiencing problems. This holds true for every CPU.
