I had that same problem once. I went for a long time wondering why my PC on certain times would just shut down. I was not sure it was doing it.. thought at one time it was power outate or something. Then got a UPS and it still did it. I thought it was posessed by Steve Jobs or something. Then one day I looked in the BIOS and seen it was scheduled to shut down same time every week on a Wednesday I think. I asked myself at that moment... why didn't I look in here before? Then I asked.. who the fuck set that up? Mystery solved.

The way it has been in the past.. AMD are closer to their max clock speeds out of the box compared to Intel's. Intel has a larger buffer before reaching max clocking speed making them a better chip to overclock compared to AMD. And just because I have have about the exact same system as @@Mule running a i4790k, Same case, same CPU and Same Cooling system... does not mean either of our chips will do better than their other at overclocking. It is a chip by chip basis. Some are better quality than others.. just like a diamond. He might can push go 4.8mhz with stability and I might not get past 4.6mhz before I start experiencing problems. This holds true for every CPU.
