  1. Checked my new speeds with Spectrum over some other ISPs' infrastructure- ( the top ones share access with each other) & the MW2 server: Tracing route to c-162-248-95-178.managed-ded.inap-nyc.nfoservers.com [162.248.95.178] over a maximum of 30 hops: 1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms 192.168.1.1 2 7 ms 8 ms 7 ms 142-254-147-033.inf.spectrum.com [142.254.147.33] 3 8 ms 8 ms 9 ms be63.lsvmky1302h.midwest.rr.com [74.128.7.245] 4 11 ms 23 ms 15 ms be25.lsvmkyzo01r.midwest.rr.com [65.29.31.56] 5 24 ms 23 ms 22 ms be24.clmkohpe01r.midwest.rr.com [65.189.140.162] 6 26 ms 25 ms 26 ms bu-ether31-vinnva0510w-bcr00.tbone.rr.com [66.109.6.54] 7 31 ms 25 ms 27 ms ae-13.edge2.Chicago10.Level3.net [4.68.37.137] 8 40 ms 42 ms 40 ms ae2.3611.edge2.NewYork6.level3.net [4.69.209.82] 9 40 ms 42 ms 40 ms INTERNAP-NE.edge2.NewYork6.Level3.net [4.30.176.170] 10 41 ms 42 ms 41 ms border2-po1-bbnet1.nyj004.pnap.net [216.52.95.47] 11 41 ms 40 ms 41 ms inap-b2.e8.router.nyc.nfoservers.com [104.153.107.254] 12 41 ms 40 ms 40 ms c-162-248-95-178.managed-ded.inap-nyc.nfoservers.com [162.248.95.178] Trace complete.
  2. Comcast Cable net worth is north of $215 Billion dollars, making it one of the largest corporations in the U.S. Interesting you mention Sky; think they own it... & NBC corporation. They're worth ~1.6X that of AT&T....you know, the largest telecommunications company in the world; known for fiber optic infrastructure. Cable isn't going anywhere, they're just adapting.
  3. Thanks! The places your mind goes makes me feel entirely better about my current headspace!! #notthatthere'sanythingwr0ngwiththat
  4. I live in Kentucky. A lot of rural farms not too far down the roads in any direction. That, & I made friends with a butcher in a nearby small town, so he hooks me for basically their cost...plus the 10% markup the store charges on product. Gonna have to buy another chest freezer.
  5. So, my tv/internet package was like $99/mo. when I moved in. The promotion expired after 12 months, & it went up to $126....wasn't stoked about that, but whatever. Got my notice of my upcoming bill & it raised another $25 to like $156! Was like: hold the fukking train. Called Customer Retention & asked them what's the best deal I can get for internet if I'm extra-special nice to you & what's the best internet-only deal I can get if I leave for 30 days or whatever & come back as a 'new' customer? She said the best deal she could find was a basic-channel + internet package, because the basic channel portion gives a better discount for the internet portion. So, instead of $156, it's $55.00 for the basic channels, with internet changing from 200Mb down to 400Mb down. W00t. Means I can d/l them bullets coming at me 2X as fast!
  6. Then @piglocan rest easy knowing his perhaps distant relative's last days were halcyon. It's not my fault they're literally selling that meat for less than a $2 wh0re charges! =0 Hate the game.
  7. Took care of my Mom when she was coming to the end; felt privileged to walk those last few miles with her. Enjoy as much as you can.
  8. You do exactly what I do! People ask me why I make 2+ gallons of chilii; 15 pounds of lasagna at a time? To which I reply: Why do you just cook enough for one meal, when you can -with minimal additional effort- cook enough for 10+ meals? The food's cheaper in bulk, & you're also saving on TIME. I go one step farther, & sautee or caramelize a bag of onions at a time, portioning them into an ice cube tray, then pop them into a ziploc bag for later use. Nice to have that on-hand to send that dish from nice to awesome. Do that with meats, too. Couple pounds of pulled chicken thighs, pork, ground beef. Make a q;uick enchilada, or sloppy joe, chicken sammich, whatever. Now that I have this instant pot, I can quickly cook from frozen. Starting an indoor herb bench & worm farm to recycle my scrap veggies & feed the greens; that soft head of lettuce I forgot int he fridge is now some nice, fresh basil for that pizza I'ma slap out with a dough culture I procured from Italy. Gonna have my own worm castings, for free...& fishing bait. W00t. Crumbled, portioned, frozen bacon, too. Nice chili potato with some bacon crumbles, cheese, sour cream. You can throw a lot of shit together quickly because it's already ready, or almost. Can eat a great meal or snack for cheaper than some bland msg bomb burger that was constituted from bone scraps treated with lye & then centrifuged. Time. $. Quality (just the way I like it). Is the answer(s).
  9. Yeah; it didn't even matter what notes he was stringing together, to me; just witnessing the flawless flow while he was totally immersed, inviting us along for the ride. Unfettered creativity with the spigot wide-open.
  10. Elvis' best work by far was in Gospel; takes me back to when I went to church.
  11. It's interesting how the tougher cuts of meat, like a Boston Butt, loaded with connective tissue & collagen taste so amazing when cooked low n slow...allowing all that to slowly melt & baste the shit outta the meat. Great, now I'm hungry again.
  12. Do like me a juicy ham!!! ...& some big titties are always a PLUS! =D
  13. At this price, had to get a few more of each!!!! Any good deals in y'all's area?@piglo

  16. Here's the most up-to-date information on Windows' 'Your Phone' app functionality - or lack thereof- vis a vis Iphone/Apple mobile devices. Apparently, it's Apple being greedy bastards, making it difficult for software devs to make compatible apps; they want the consumer to be forced to buy their shit exclusively. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/using-iphone-with-your-phone-app-windows-10/fb706c99-a4c2-46e2-8120-3b0416c2553d
  17. Man, I'm tryin' to say. There's these things called emulators, which is a program that mimics another operating system on your computer, so you can run that old system's software/programs; so- for instance- you can download a free nintendo emulator, then download the games from back in the day for free & play them for free; god knows how many quarters I spent in my youth at the video arcade. Well, I started all willy-nilly on the download an emulator & then download the mobile editing app; then there was some Creator Studio drive bullshit somewhere in there, then this update the something or other...I was like: fuck this noise; was as annoying as having to do the other horse shit I was trying to not do. I was, just on principle like: This fucking phone can do all of it, record, smoothly, quickly edit, quickly process, & upload inside of 10 minutes; ;why the fuck am I re-inventing the wheel here; surely someone's made a simple interface for the pc + phone. And they did. So thus my quest ended; as does this TED talk. Thanks for tuning in. Now make sure you post some of this video for us aspiring tr0glodytes.
  18. Well then, "then" them; like: 'Why back in our day'... Aliota shit coming, nudging some inexorably towards the Luddite 'fuck it all' mindset, perhaps. But there's some fun shit in the tech menagerie; making it worth selective 80-20 system ROI.
  19. YESSSS!!! I got like 2 years' worth of video taken with my Galaxy phone that I haven't bothered to edit & upload because of the time-draining hassle of: 1. Upload the video file to my pc 2. Download a video editor 3. Wait for the editor to load & buffer the video file(s) 4. Finally edit the video 5. Wait for 9,000,O00 tears while the editor SLOOOOWLY slogs through processing the project 6. Upload to the Tube. Now: 1. Select video from my phone's gallery 2. Click 'pencil' icon underneath it 3. Edit 4. Upload to the Tube It's appeal is also the streamlined form & basic feature set; just what you need to trim, add some music, basic filters if you like, maybe even some text, quickly & easily. This makes me =D
  20. @WeednFeed It's designed for Android devices; with maybe some functionality capable on an Apple . https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/your-phone-app-requirements-and-set-up-cd2a1ee7-75a7-66a6-9d4e-bf22e735f9e3
  21. ...Bluetooth, but I also connect the phone via its recharge port @ the bottom of the phone. When you left-click the Windows button on the bottom-left corner of your desktop screen, you will find an icon entry for your phone to click, toward the bottom of the menu; I simply drag a shortcut icon of it to my desktop, so I can then access that way. It requires Windows 10 or higher to work. It's a function built by Microsoft.
  22. What makes this nice is I can edit videos taken with my phone using the phone's video editor, from my desktop, without having to load the video onto my pc & use a 3rd-party video editor. Can browse through all yor phone's files & apps...doing anything on your phone from the comfort of your pc & mouse without all that tapping, fiddling & squinting. Also negates the need for an emulator to run the apps. Very handy.
  23. ...that you can control your phone & run your phone's apps from your desktop? So obvious, but never thought of it 'til today...
  24. Up ~10%... could be worse... by the time the supply chain's unfucked, prolly be back down to normal.... also, with people once-again availing themselves of services, instead of cooped-up in their homes, demand likely will subside for goods. Let us return for a look-see in a month or 3.
