Thanks. I found a new disc...........believe it or not after all these years...........and am back in business......... But am going to have to check that lens/dirty issue.............could well be.

COD WAW is only disc that will not open. The CD player takes all others. Don't think it is the driver. COD disc does not open in CD drivers on three other machines either.............am left with conclusion it is the disc. Looking for a WAW used disc now.

Thanks for the input. I find nothing on the disc from my computer and two others that I have tried. The disc drive will accept and use discs from other games. Nothing on the disc to copy over ? I upgraded to Windows 11 a year or so ago and been playing just fine until a couple evenings ago. I'm going to see if I can find a used disc if I cant fix this...............and I am beginning to doubt that it is fixable.

If so, I don't know where. A search for COD and World at War don't turn up anything.

(this is GROUNDBURST) So, just last evening I tried to logon and play the sniper server and OOOPPPSSS..........can't do it. I've tried several things that lead me to think that all the data on my COD WAW disc has been deleted. I don't know how, or why...............is that even possible?? Is this something common? I tried other discs and the drive appears to be working. Moving the disc to another drive on another computer gets the same "empty" result. I am thinking that the only solution is to find another COD WAW disc for sale?????

Sorry, I am lost as to what happened and what games we can now play on the COD4 3rd server?

Physical disk and Win 10 Home. So what I'm reading is that the mod that WAS on the 3rd server has been moved to the 2nd server and that caused the change? But if I played on what was server 3, I should go back there and play and things will reset? I've got a backup profile that I did before moving to WIN 10. But I do not see the "MAIN" file in the hidden files in order to swap it in. What is interesting is that my profile shows the four star and next prestige ranking as if all the buildup was ok...............but the loadouts don't allow anything but the lowest ranking loadouts...................no reticle for the Thompson, no grip for the shotgun, none of the loadouts for tanks, etc.

Well, trying to follow the advice. Not very successfully. I guess I'm not looking in the right place for the hidden files advice. One admin that was on said to play the game for a few minutes and the stuff would come back..............played through three cycles and still no change. If simply playing on the server brings about a correction, I'll try it a while longer. But if I have to go through the whole thing to regain stuff, then I'll have to give it up. In the earlier CODS I knew how to replace the documents that contained the profile.........but Windows 10 and the WAW are more frustrating than I'm very interested in putting up with.

OK............I think this may be the place to post this ....or to get redirected to the right place. Been Playing COD WAW on the server for some time now. Have built up perks and load-outs on two of the main servers for it........all of a sudden this evening, I find that one still has my perks and stuff and the other has dropped everything that was built up..........right back to basic start. Wondering if this is something common? How to fix it. If it means going through the whole process again.............I'm not going to waste my time. Anyone got a clue???

There are folks who seem to be upset the shotguns with grip.................and many who do use it. I have some familiarity with shotguns..............as do many others.................but the complaint seems to be the range.............. I wonder how many players ever actually used the long range round...............with the steel ball in the center of a set of 00 bucks. It was intended to get a greater lethal distance................ If you are thinking of bird shot range on a shotgun, think again. Frankly, if "realism" is an issue.................then STOP bunny hopping all over the place. THAT is about as far from "real" as one can get,................IMHO.

Well, I think you got to the problem.............got me to think back a little more accurately. Back at that time my HD started to go kaput. The HD was replaced and I had to upload a lot of stuff. I was able to retrieve the old files for COD WAW from the failing disk.............and did a copy/paste in order to keep from having to start over. I think that is the problem................I was able to come from "zero" up to where I was when the HD went out on me................but apparently it is now stuck at that point.........not writing any new information. I'm thinking solving that may be a bigger issue than it is really worth................LOL.............it's only a game. Dang, I hate to go through all the getting killed to upgrade the shotgun. Yep, if anyone has any ideas on this ............I'm open to suggestions

No................. The saved date on the files is 7/31..............and I've certainly been playing since then. I probably was playing without realizing any problem, but about three weeks ago I tried to make a change to the perks on a class and became aware of the problem and have been chewing on the problem since then. So it would appear you are onto something...............not sure I understand how to correct that.............??? I did check and the summary of played time and scores is adding ok.
