  1. Korean noodles not Japanese.
  2. I have that gpu and mfg. I had a problem where my computer would reset itself after playing a game for a few minutes. I dont remember if there were any bsod. Turns out the card intake and heatsink inside had a huge carpet of dust on it. Cleaned it in addition to applying new paste and all was good again. It would be a good idea to open it up and check for this. Blowing air into it wont work. XFX, if you registered, has a lifetime warranty on it I think but opening it up yourself would void this. If you do, be sure it is a place where you will be able to find dropped screws. The ones inside are tiny. edit: If you try this dont bother with the paste at first. See if cleaning out the dust carpet alone will do it.
  3. Its on the main page. Called OW2 server2 or MW2 server2. edit: 74.208.70.133
  4. It was... in the updated mod. It was online on the other server for weeks but no traffic. Currently it has the noacr mod but nobody is playing that one either. So perhaps its time to put the update back soon. If you want the non-soild go there.
  5. Yes now I remember thx. It was reduced in size enough so that you had to be standing in the bubble itself to be affected. It was a quick fix because at that point rebuilding the proper files would have caused confusion and maybe made some things worse. Requiring the whole bug testing thing that people hate. So that was set for the next update and is taken care of. Could be that those that do this stay just outside of it then wait until they see someone. Then move in and shoot you. Move out again until the next comes along. In case nobody remembers, the solid bubbles were done because of complaints about difficulty defrosting at a distance. Especially those with weapons that had higher sway. So the solid bubbles made the target bigger. It was no longer just the player but both that would respond to the beam. This was an unintended consequence and it comes down to which is more preferable: easier defrosting or dealing with people that use them as shields.
  6. Next mod update will have all those things taken care off. I cannot make those changes to the current one. Nothing can shoot 'through' the bubbles. What you are seeing is people hiding inside of them and shooting out. People that do that with enemy bubbles should be getting zapped with radiation if they do it too long. Unless that got shut off? I dont remember. Just shoot at their feet. Blow off a big toe and the player is dead. This is the same mod build that was around 6 months ago. Only difference is some server side script fixes to fix bugs.
  7. There are several carentan maps and I know one of them has a mismatch problem. Not sure why.
  8. Maybe only in the sense that he thinks XI is a pro NFL team?
  9. Yea and thats a bug. You're not supposed to be able to do that. No there isnt any gravity but you cannot look up beyond straight forward. It was set that way long ago to deal with a bug that would cause problems if the player flew above the map.
  10. Saw that one coming a mile away.
  11. Currently you can shoot down the missile with a SAM and its pretty easy to do so. Doing the UAV thing, if a launcher is there, gives you some time to pick out a target and once launched you wont be shot down. So its a trade off. Would you rather have more time to look for a target and have a 50/50 chance of being shot down once you launch the missile? Or would you rather have less time to look for a target but once you launch nothing can stop you? It would certainly need testing to see how well it works but except for how you guide the missile to the target it really would be no different than shooting from a Reaper. Just to note, as it works so far it would take 4-6 missiles to bring a UAV down depending on how many are deflected by flares. The flares deflect up to four and the other two to shoot it down. Currently the missile can be brought down with just one.
  12. That is the question. Should I treat it like a Reaper where you can shoot down the UAV but not the missile after it is fired. Currently there isnt one. Yes the UAV itself would have one or two flares. In this situation the missile wouldnt need one. To me this is more realistic but it is a change in how it works because you cant loiter for 30 seconds if a SAM is around. And I know how so many in XI hate change.
  13. No that is something I have to fix, if I am correct in what it is. The +80 likely came from multiple scores assuming it all happened at the same time. +50 is probably for the kill. +10 would be from winning the streak. So +20 came from something else. If you remember, when the notifications caught up what were the first few notifies you got related to getting a score? I am also assuming the +80 was the pulsing yellow number in the middle not with the flyby graphic at the top.
  14. Help: If anyone remembers, or heard about it, was there some kind of CI while someone was using a predator missile within the last day or two? Also what was happening at the time? There was one somewhat significant error related to it that should not have happened and spent the morning going through it all to find how is was possible. So far the only thing that looks like it might be the cause is the owner disconnecting while it was rotating in the air but before it was launched. Assuming the player that disconnected was actually the owner. I dont know. If that was the reason its one of those 1 in a 1000 things. Maybe a rage quit but who would actually do that in the middle of using a streak weapon? Could also have been a dropped connection for whatever reason. At the time the server looks to be full with many of the usual suspects playing. edit: The map where this happened looks to be mp_equestrian. Its a mod error not the map, unless the map itself somehow caused someone to disconnect, but just a reminder of when it might have happened.
  15. Yea I mean when you got that particular kill where you got the first streak did you also get a bonus message. That one also uses the checks to wait for player killed notifications so maybe one of them is missing something. No there were no changes except for a few minor bug fixes.
  16. I have seen that before and I know what it is. Before notifications all kill processing must be completed first to keep things in sync. After which a message is sent to the game that basically says "I am done". Somewhere this is not happening and it continues to wait. If you know, when you made that particular kill when you got the award did you also get a bonus of some kind or something similar? Do you know which one?
  17. Since it seems some are having problems but others are not its hard to tell. A car is mostly just the player with a different model + engine sound and trail fx. The explosive works the same as a C4 charge. AC130 is also just a player with different kinds of player weapons, like an rpg or nade launcher. Care package rerolls are part of the proximity checks that see if you are in range to take it. It checks for the melee button in addition to use. If melee then change a few variables and the head icon. Mininuke is much less heavy than the standard airstrike with its cluster bomblets. Instead of 36 (12 each plane) there is only 1. Helicopters are the heaviest streak in the game in terms of the number of running threads controlling it all, which is why only one is allowed. CP drops dont need the threads for things like targeting and primary/secondary weapons so are much lighter. The flypath code is also much lighter since its only A->B->C then done. EMP is just a visual effect no different than NV goggles. Otherwise one var is set for the player or equipment which is used as an extra exception to decide whether or not to do something. That said, things do add up so efficiency is important and if there are things that can be made to run slower with no noticeable difference it is best to do it.
  18. Occasional red spikes are normal on every game. They mean packet loss or server frames not being received on time. Constant red spikes every second points to a problem in that area. Lagbinds fuck with this when sending data back to the server. Yellow typically has to do with sync in between server frames (20fps). Big mods with lots of goodies and things to process means more data that needs to be sent by the server. If the frame data is not sent or received quick enough the rest of it is dropped to move onto the next. The size of the bar reflects how much out of sync it is. The default 30 packets was set for a game made in 2007. It stands to reason that more complex games send more data and thus need more packets. Visual lag that affects everything you see could also obviously be due to the video card and how much data it has to process. Rain. lightening and fog are the worst.
  19. For the time being the other server is set up with the same mod. Go play there and see if things improve for you.
  20. Major CI's related to a mod are caused by huge amounts of data being written to the game console log on the server due to a significant script error. I mean MB's of data per second. A 10 second CI would easily generate a 100MB log file. There have been no such errors.
  21. Nice try. The other server has the mod running with all the script updates if people want to go try that one. No idea if it would be any better or worse or if its even in the same location. I want to stress however that the mod as it is now is a mirror of the way it was months ago with the other provider.
  22. Some extensive SAM updates are coming. They include: Two missiles per launcher. Damage per missile reduced. Flares for some vehicles. Bigger aircraft = more flares. Missiles have a variable speed depending on the target. Faster missile = shorter lifetime and larger turn radius. Launcher rotation also faster. When the launcher fires a flare is deployed. It will attract two missiles if both are fired at the same time. From then on the missile considers the flare its target. At the moment the AC130 has three, which potentially can attract three to six missiles. All UAVs have two. None for heli's and I dont know how that would work when hovering. If any of the other cod games does this I would need to see a vid of it. SAM + friendly UAV: If a UAV is active (and no enemy CUAV) visual LOS range for the launcher is increased by %50. B2 - the launcher will know its general direction and fire its missiles in a straight line. But the missiles will not be able to see it until within a certain range. No flares. Migs and F-15s. Both can be targetted with one missile. Things like distance, relative angles, active UAV and LOS factor in greatly. It is unlikely they will be hit before dropping their payloads but if a missile gets close enough it might cause a premature drop. No flares at this time. Predator: looking at this one but considering a change where the UAV is visible and can be shot down before the player fires. Like other UAVs it will have flares. In a way it will be like a Reaper but it only fires one missile that you control. Opinions or other options? Any thoughts plz post them here.
