  1. No love for arcade games? So many to choose from.
  2. True. It would be a specialized thing to do and requires working with someone instead of spawn-shoot-die-repeat. The one with the C4 trigger sets off the bomb. And maybe there would be no point to it actually. But if it works, it would be really funny just to see it happen.
  3. I dont know if this will actually work. But just for kicks if you want to try it. Someone on your team activates a defroster car. Throw a pack of C4 on it. Because the player/driver is also there, which C4 cant stick to, I dont know if there would be a conflict. Or what would happen when the car moves. Or anything else that would happen. Hopefully nothing totally unbalanced or error causing.
  4. No different than taking a package or hacking a sentrygun. There should be appropriate risk involved considering what you may get. Could be a UAV. Could be Duke. But not certain death for making the attempt. So the question to ask, what kind of risk either makes it too difficult that you die every time or makes it too easy and you get freebies? Neither are good. When you made the kill did you get the message about pressing a certain key?
  5. I second Turtle Beach. Great sound both for games and music. Comfortable even after prolonged use. However, the vinyl coverings for the headband and other places are worse than paper thin and even if careful with them it eventually just peels off in shreds. Eventually I suppose get some kind of sticky sheet and cut to shape.
  6. Weapon_rocketgun_256 is an image file, but the name shouldnt include the 256 part. 256 is the pixel dimensions 256x256. Strange.
  7. Tough to choose. Many of the well known games... Borderlands, Mass Effect etc... I have never played.
  8. That is certainly one way, sometimes it works other times not. Then again, people having a discussion, even if many don't participate (like presidential elections) and coming to a decision is preferable.
  9. It doesnt shoot down helicopters. UAVs. Care packages. Artillery launchers. Also, the SAM is a team weapon that seeks out and destroys the enemy as opposed to a local one that simply protects whoever happens to be there three times. It also has a decent chance at shooting at a B2. As for more admin work, that is certainly true. Just add it to the existing list of dealing with bad behavior. In this case however it should be pretty easy to spot. As with everything else, its cost benefit. Does one outweigh the other. For the vid, one of the first two kills didnt apply to your streak. Its quite likely that the victim had a deathstreak going. One of them, the next death is not applied to the killers streak. Otherwise, works fine. As for the Trophy System, it does in the game only of course not RL. Such as the ac130(except the 25mm), predators, and reapers.   11. Yes on purpose so you dont accidentally switch/pickup weapons when trying to defrost. The M32 works the same as the under barrel version. Distance, speed, explosive power, etc. But certainly with a faster reload. However... enter the Trophy System to the rescue. And of course the flak jacket is still a great option. The goal is to offer choices and counter measures. Not take away things from others unless there is a good reason for it.

  13. I suppose Heist is controversial. Until the first time you steal an AGM strike from Sharpe. Back in the day one of the developers of Red Orchestra 2 said one of his mantras was to add chaos to the game. The fog of war and all of that.
  14. Yea most likely needs to be corrected. But, if there are redirects then that means 30 players in the server. Glad to hear that.
  15. Home for lunch for a bit. I think I see the problem is likely duplicate image files in a couple iwds. That can often cause the problem. Did a lot of work yesterday to try and get the 2400 problem taken care of (Flemishtown) and it was late when I put the iwds back together and uploaded to get something ready for today. Will take care of it when I'm off work. ? Some things, like friendly fire, have been an option for a very long time on most servers (cod4 and 5). Of course mods like ACE set running speed and jumping to fit what they wanted to do. FF does have the problem in ftag in that the victims are frozen instead of the usual respawn, similar to S&D norespawn. It is arguably unfair, so it can be done differently. That said, also havent gone through all the settings. Looked and jump height is likely not the same value set in the other server. Yes the 60 seconds was for testing to get the map rotation to go fast and I neglected to change it. So... have a little virtual meeting and hash out the pros and cons of FF. Then decide accordingly.
  16. Ugh. After work I will look to figure things out. As for feeling like the other server, many people want it that way so TBH I can't win and in this case whether or not the usual settings like running speed should be transferred or different is a discussion among all of you. Same with FF. Some of you want it some dont. Get together, make your cases, and decide. Same thing. Whichever way it goes one side will be unhappy. i suppose kill power is down for those that used the nooby saritch as a crutch.
  17. Ha! I assume you mean the trip lasers. FF mines is an option. *IF* the clan decision is to turn FF on. I remember playing a server that had it. Does require a team that works together and informing each other where they are so as to stay away. Though it might make some unhappy even more than friendly fire itself. Strictly speaking though... one could argue that mines are smart and use IFF codes. Anyways... Beta 3 uploaded as a new server mod and new download. All but one of the files are different so better to do it this way. Its late, tired, and have to get up very early for work. So I will post an update log tomorrow after work. Main things: Rocket gun sidearm. C4 should now be available. Frozen bubble and hud elements should be removed on death, overtime or spectate. Rounds increased to best of 7. Various other fixes. Pretty confident that the rotation should be good but cant promise it. I am hoping this takes care of all significant issues except for tweaks or minor code patches and such.
  18. Ooops. No if you are in last stand thats not supposed to happen. Something I didnt account for. Heh. I dont think bullet damage for pistols is affected. There is however a max range. Maybe sounds like its too short however and will adjust. edit: Never thought about it. But in the standard game in last stand can you pick up dropped weapons?
  19. Strange. Tested the tacnuke here and got it at a 15 streak. Actually thanks for posting that because it seems its missing the mushroom cloud hud image. However, which weapons did you use? Its possible one of them is not being applied to the streak. In which case it should happen to all awards not just the tac nuke. EMP nades are distance based. The farther away you are the less of an effect it will have. Like explosives or stun grenades. Yes the drop weapon button is gone and replaced with the swap weapon button. I dont recall if the online server has the correct text strings in the menu yet. However if there is a real need to simply drop the weapon it can be done. Will take additional scripting since the built in method is no longer used. Friendly fire should be off. However, whether or not it remains that way is a clan discussion. Or, friendly fire but a non-lethal variation that causes some kind of damage or effect but does not kill.
  20. Doing my best today to get the next update up and running for Memorial Day. Among the various fixes etc etc... the rocket gun is in. Will need some good gameplay testing to find the right balance for it as a sidearm. Not too good. Not nerfed. The goal is to make it fun, new, but not overwhelming or pointless.
  21. Will check the magnum fire time and ksg. The ksg has the stats of the good ol winchester. FF will be off next map. I must have at some point uploaded a WIP file.
  22. Actually, the old sound had some good distance as well and the new one is meant to be the same. However I will double check. Will run further tests on streaks but thus far havent seen it here. Checked combat medic time and I think you are right. Will work on it. If everyone wants to try it, just to see, I can up the rounds for best 4 of 7. The explosive car is 1.5 times player speed. The defroster car 2.0. edit: unfreeze sound is 1.5x of the older one. Will adjust it.
