first need to know motherboard model and how many ram slots. Note OS and hardware 32 or 64bit depends on total ram also has current firmware for MB so cpu has the best microcode all PSU's style ATX are universal 20 pin or 24 pin connector best use the update app from motherboard maker site to update MB drivers Note need to know the MB RevX.xx to match model# (its written on MB) other thing can do is upgrade CPU that matches MB socket for a faster CPU if want want more speed
