couple of option here to close the crashed app,  
1) use ALT-TAB to go the failed error, cycle holding the TAB key while tapping ALT ket to get to error, when is highted release the TAB and with Mouse  click the X  to close it 
2)  ALT-CTRL-DEL to go to Task manager   
 
just select CoD then right cick app then select end task 
Key you need to run  compatibility mode by go in settings  system 

open that and direct to C:\Program Files (x86)\Activision\Call of Duty - World at War/ CoDWaWmp.exe  run it from there .
 
issue is the game was made in 32Bit  and FAT32,  your new OS  is 64 bit also  NTFS format.
me i  used old drive in new system to get game to play or you can use third party

Sounds impressive but I still think The hydrogen engine is the thing of the future. Abundance of hydrogen on earth, no byproducts but water, its probably even drinkable water but don't quote me on that one, And it has a lot of power too. They just have to hurry up and get the production of stations , and cars rolling. Oh almost forgot , the cold weather does not interfere  with the performance of the car like it does to batteries. And you get a lot of miles on a tank of hydrogen as apposed to  an electric car that will take you maybe 300 mi at best then you can wait 4 to 6 hours at a charging station if you can reach one for your car to charge up again.

i try also for win 11 is a PITB  down loaded from XI  note need a zip file app to get the files, so when play game it will D/L faster and next time play map you got it. seems in win 11 the map directory is hidden for it not pick them up

Was so happy to return to gaming after a 15-16 year hiatus and see private servers were still a thing.  Especially nice to see them populated with grumpy old worn out farts like myself. Love swapping stories of our aging bodies falling all to fuck on us, lol  Spinal cord/nerve issues, cancer and heart problems here.  NEVER LET IT HOLD YOU BACK !! Be 25 in your heart forever !

Was formerly an Admin and host of {CRU} COD 4 & 5 and Battlefield servers and have worked with Brothers and Open Warfare mods quite extensively. I thoroughly respect the members who put their time in to make these servers run smooth.
Was also a member of the former MB and BONES clans back in the day

note:  over torquing the screws may distort the valve body, this why i surface the mounting area to get a good seal @ 15 inchLBs torque.
