Unfortunatly it was a live release derby, only wy your fish counted was if it swam away. One poor guy had a 9.1 lb northern pike, tried for an hour to get it to swim off, kept going belly up, so he couldnt count it, he would have won for Pike if it swam off. 8.1 lbs won for the Pike and a guy brought in a 5.7 lbs small mouth bass to win for bass!!!! Was a great day all around and am really looking forward to next years derby!! Oh, and my son slept with his medal on last night heheehehehe

Well as a few of you may know, my father, my son and i entered a fishing derby today at a local conservation area... 3 generations of Murphys out on the boat. My Son ended up winning 3rd place in the Junior Panfish division!!!! We had an awesome day... caught a buncch of panfish and got some swimming in while waiting for the derby to end The 3rd place Black Crappie!! The Boys Haul!! 3rd place Dakota Murphy!!!! Dakota stealing the Captains Chair from Gramps

Took the kids to the beach today, the two little ones were playing together and i was trying to drown my 16 year old step son in the deeper area. The wife was way up on shore using 12X zoom to get a few Pics... you will notice the stepson giving me the one finger salute while i give him the double barrel LOL. Cant believe she snapped the pic right then, didnt notice till i was going throught them after uploading them on the PC I Knew I Could Fly Ma!!!!! Cannon Ball!!!!!

LandShark Nice catch. Way too hot in oklahoma for fishing lately. I will be in Florida for 9 days next year. Been a lorg time since I 've been home. So was that fried in beer batter? I just do a simple batter... dip fish in egg then coat with crackers with a bit of breadcrumbs salt pepper garlic fried in oil in a pan. I like the taste of fish, so i keep it simple.

Nice looking fish bro! once or twice during the winter season i will keep them, they get too slimey in the summer LOL and i hate cleaning pike, very boney. I practice catch and release most of the time, and when i do keep, its only for personal consumption as i prefer fresh fish to the frozen fish.
