  1. EDD saw that cow field internet avatar and got excited to see other animals... Except he realized it doesn't actually show any.
  2. I don't think it happened because all the servers filled up with regulars too soon.
  3. Ok, morning crew approved it and last night crew did. Server is officially moved. The link above is dead and now it should show in your Favs again.
  4. I have a twin test server setup: http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf4/servers/show/pc/72aacc8c-c2dc-4391-b3cb-518c2ab400b2 Same settings, access etc. just located in VA instead of GA. The other 24 man server also still exists but please use this one for a few days and see if it runs any better for everyone, if so I will have fully transferred etc.

  6. Look, this is all opinion based just like anything else in life. Just like some people will argue Dem. vs. Rep. Everything has a pro and con. We all think and experience different and no need to go to war over it. Enough of that already happens in life sadly. The point of the clan and these games are to have fun. Why can't we all just do that? (Even with a sometimes broken game I still have fun, if I stop having fun I stop playing, simple.) No one is right here. One person can be good in HC and suck in SC and vice versa. Just like anything else in life. Play the game to enjoy it. If you're having troubles, no, it doesn't hurt to try another mode or other things but don't force it upon each other or fight about what is better. Also we don't need to make it seem as someone who plays one mode vs. the other is less of a player or person. Just play both, see what you like more and keep at it. Get tired of it, try the other mode. Who really cares? We have servers for both so we can all play what we want. I play everything equally across all of our servers and yes, while my preferred mode is HC, I still hop on SC because it's got a different experience also. I play to have fun and good company. I often play objective more so vs. giving 2 shits about my KD so it's not uncommon for me to be negative even but guess what? I don't care, because I am playing for fun. Not like I am getting paid or something special if I have higher KD lol. Now. Stop the flame wars and take it out on the battlefield. How about a battle between ourselves in the game? Few rounds on one mode, few on another. HC ppl vs. SC people each round. Winners get bragging rights (not flaming rights!).
  7. I might hop on with my bipod scout knife to try it out. Vehicles might be interesting depending on map. Roadkills will be easy kill for bikes and quads as can't shoot em off so people will have to learn some dancing skills but tank on tank might be boring hah.
  8. Yes indeed was fun. I've played them a few times actually when just messing around. Stats etc. don't count as they are unranked but it's good for some fun for sure when you need a break from the normal games. You really need active admins on them though because the rules while you can somewhat enforce them have workarounds people do sadly to make it not as fun, though most these servers turn vote-kick on because of that.
  9. If any of you are having lag, rubber banding or packet loss on the 24 slot server (seen as those white squares at top right of screen). Please download http://sourceforge.net/projects/winmtr/files/Latest/WinMTR-v092.zip/download?use_mirror=iweb and run that against 172.245.18.27 for about 500 sent/received. After that hit stop and "Export TEXT" and attach that file here. (That download has two files one for 32-bit and one for 64-bit. Just run whichever OS you have (most probably 64-bit). In short it's just a traceroute that loops to look for packet loss etc. Traceroute/pings aren't cut and dry though, seeing packet loss on it doesn't mean packet loss actually is happening. Most companies lower priority or intentionally drop these sorts of packets as they are not considered important so don't make any assumptions yet but I just need more data.
  10. I'll work with the provider and see if anything can be found. The provider used most often doesn't make much difference as they all seem to use the same data centers and connections. They just change the reverse DNS so on trace routes it says another company name. Occasionally some lease better HW but honestly most even use the same HW, it just comes down to how many virtual servers they cram on them and the load. (Similar to what shared website providers do) It's more luck of the draw. You can have the same company in the same location give you 2 servers and one run better vs. the other because other things shared with it or the data pipe it's using etc. Also different physical locations plays a big role as some locations have better peering points (routing to various providers) and more BW etc. I don't think the issue in this case is BW as latency has been fairly consistent and suspect it may be a host load issue during peak times. We'll see what happens. I suspect they will hate me because I can push them on the much more technical stuff due to my background and BS detector.
  11. Apples and Oranges. COD is a arcade shooter (And not the arcade you are probably thinking, I can feel the flamers warming up already hah), BF4 isn't. While neither is "realistic" in any way BF is more realistic vs. COD will be. COD also uses tighter network configuration, meaning those with good ping will play better. BF relaxes this some and tries to compensate so that some people with higher pings can play with people with lower pings and try to limit the impact. You really just can't compare them. Mechanics are totally different as is the game engine, player style etc. etc. COD better ping will do you better. BF sometimes higher ping can do better depending on where that sweet spot is. Kind of like client and server based hit detection. Both have very different outcomes and pro's and cons.
  12. Congratz! Hope your mom's doin better!
  13. No Christmas for anyone! All holiday money and gifts are to be sent to me directly.
  14. This Classic mode during USA time is only a trial run so everyone that wants a say this is your chance to say yes, no, etc. etc. In the meantime you still have the EU HC server (don't blame ping either as I can play just as good at 30 or 120) Sometimes you just might suck and ping is an easy blame remember, this is BF, the netcode isn't the best and thus ping has less of an impact unless you rock the @@HellKid + more ping. We all have bad days/moments playing and it's often easy to blame things like ping. We know some of you won't like the mode and some will. Those that don't, at least try it for beyond just a few games. If more people want HC mode back during US time or the player counts don't show any improvement it will probably be reverted back to HC. This server is mainly used by XI and foXI and a few other regulars so it's up to you all to state what you want. The goal here is to simply see if it can be populated a little more so those that do play on it can have more fun and Classic was mentioned by a few people so we are giving it a shot. Me personally, I like HC more but honestly I play whatever, I play to have fun and hang out with a bunch of idiots, not to let a game make me rage (too much). That all said, let the flame war begin hah
  15. I've done those before. 75% of the time it doesn't end well for me though lol. I even lucked out one time doing the loop and getting a roadkill from getting so close to the ground hah. Needless to say I wasn't intentionally trying to do these and it was the frantic "I can save it!!!" flying while trying to go against a jet or something lol. They are awesome though.
  16. Aww great, just what we needed, another idiot! Welcome!
  17. This just makes me want to keep our servers full longer so we can find some more awesome future XI people. I love messin around doing this sort of crap. One of the things I like about softcore before it starts. Acting a fool doing things that just shouldn't be possible lol.
  18. aww man, who let another idiot in the clan? crap.... Welcome!
  19. welcome you idiot!
  20. I run on a laptop. A few things to note. Laptops run warmer vs. desktops and it's considered normal so don't totally freak out. For example my 780M GTX idles at what most desktop people's higher temps are. Same for CPU. My CPU and GPU aren't considered overheating until 90-100c. Most desktop chips would self destruct at that temp, but mobile things are designed to run a bit warmer. The thermal specs are raised on them, the down fall is they are generally more expensive or slower vs. desktop ver. For example my 780M GTX is probably closer to a 680GTX desktop model performance wise. That said more heat and smaller air space to displace it means heat can build up much faster and is what causes most peoples issues. I personally don't use a laptop cooler, but my laptop has 2 fans (one for CPU and one for GPU) and they run full speed when I game. I also am on a glass desk with room behind it. Room temp is prob 77F Basically I am 780M GTX Overclocked another 100+MHz 4910MQ Overclocked another 1.2GHz on all cores perm. 1TB SSD 32GB Ram Blu-Ray Burner 15.6" High Gamut screen (I play on an external 24" 144Hz screen via DP cable). My GPU and CPU under load both run around mid-upper 70's which is actually really. My PSU is only 180W and I am probably running it at the limit. I disable onboard monitor when gaming to free up some power on it even hah. It really just comes down to the machine you get and the components used. I've played on laptops since before BF3 and no issues but my laptops are 2.5-3k range also. I stopped doing desktops after got tired of power they use, heat the generate and I like the fact I can take my laptop with me and have gaming to go basically hah. What laptop do you have and what temps does it run? You may need to download something to check temps if you don't know. The newer stuff is much better at heat though. For example the i7 CPU's won't really fry on overheating, they will just slow down the clock, same for most the newer GPU's. For example when I get lazy and don't open up mine to clear the vents it gets a tad warmer but instead of overheating it will just get a little slower to compensate for the heat. Most desktops will do this now too with the newer stuff. A cooler will never heart though, adds some cooling, noise and piece of mind for a cheap price. I don't bother as I have 3yr warranty on all my parts and replace it generally after it ends and sell the old machine. I would however suggest cleaning it out every few months. Most have a lower cover that come off and you can blow air from inside that to the outside through the vents to blow the dust bunnies out. Laptop fans generally push more air through smaller spaces so need cleaning of vents a lot more often vs. a desktop would. Anyone with the money I would say get a Sager/Clevo notebook. They generally are close to half the price of AW and better performance. They are not flashy either and more professional/business look. IE less chance to be stolen hah. They also do 3yr warranty for only 150 which on a 3k+ machine is a great deal. My machine is very similar to them as I use a variant of a shell they use.
  21. Yea, I think if the slots got increased it "may" help it be more busy (despite it's not really a full time server as we have the other 2 servers) as it wouldn't empty out so easy when a few people leave because more could be on it to start with. I also think it may open the door to maybe other uses so that server could be used for scrims etc. We could also try it for a month or two and if it gets to crazy or stays the same count wise revert it. Just my 2 cents. If all else fails we blame Ed, works for me always.
  22. I'd be down for some more slots. 32 slots seems like a perfect number. Gets rid of that 2-4 man queue that's been happening sometimes but also opens possibility to using a few for spec when questionable people are on and keeps it smaller vs. the EU one that can get a little too crazy at times. Who all else is having performance issues though? I know some people are having no issues and others are. ginger & bubbles I know have unstable ping. Johnny D and Cobra have a lot higher vs. what they should. I've got packet loss always (but good ping lol). I think hammer also has warping/lag issues if I recall right. Hopefully it's just some bad routes that get cleared up soon. I suspect it's backbone capacity issues for some of the providers being used by the game server hosting company and thus why so inconsistent on why not everyone having issues. I agree though, we give it a little more time just to be sure that it's not the shitty weather in the US all over messing with stuff.
  23. So looks like they changed the GUID on the server... here is the new link... http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf4/servers/show/pc/4b7883a2-097d-4ec2-82f2-97b353c9110c/XI-XTREMEIDIOTS-com-US-HARDCORE-MIXED-V-Map-S-LIMIT/
  24. I think I got most of the issues ironed out on it so should be good. The server is located in Atlanta, GA For most of those located outside US your pings will probably stay around the same. Those in the NA side it will vary. Some will now have lower pings and some a little higher. No perfect spot exists for everyone but TBH I play on the EU server all the time at 120+ms ping and have no issues with lag or delay. If your ping is in the mid-low 100's you should be fine honestly. Poor Hellkid plays at 200+ and still gets me plenty of times. BF isn't setup like the old school Unreal or Quake games with how it works so while pings do matter they don't really impact as much until you they get excessive.
