Nope, PCI-E is backwards compatible so you are good to use whatever card you want. It may limit performance a little but at least if you ever get a new MB etc. in future it will be good still. That all aside see if you have a friend or someone that would loan you a PSU to test and make sure it's not that. But TBH under stress it can be any part causing crash, from MB, RAM, to PSU and/or GPU etc. HW issues can be a bugger sometimes to figure out cause, especially if you don't have some sort of spare parts to play musical parts with.

I've had issues on that server since it was setup again. I can play better on EU server with double ping vs it lol. The US HC I always have packet loss going on sadly and I am in same time zone even. Other thing to keep in mind is that server doesn't always stay that busy at the moment so a lot of times it has issues and no one is catching it but I generally do because I will go testing stuff on it or messing around killing time lol

This is all rough numbers though and because of the private sector no good research can really exist because some companies are soo different. Also keep in mind we are not talking about a 10% wage increase, we are talking about in some cases 150+%. Also when prices go up they generally don't just go up by a small amount like 10 cents. It would go up by 10 cents plus a size reduction in the product (again, we are talking about much more vs. 10% too but just to use your example). Remember, companies do not look for flat line, they look for increase. That 10 cents doesn't take into account that they would have raised it up 10 cents anyway due to other cost increase, profit demands or the full ripple effect. You mention other wages going up to keep hierarchy but fact is in most places it would NOT go up by the same, so in reality some of those better paid people would end up with a less gap between them and the lower paid ones (which after everything else means they are making LESS money vs. before probably). Not to mention the ripple effect that the companies cost of goods and services to them will also increase because the other companies cost go up if the people they get them from have to raise up prices as well. I've been high up in plenty of big companies and even small ones and while sometimes at face value it seems simple it's far from it. The issue comes down to profits. Like I said, most big companies CAN afford it, but they won't. If it was my company and I was banking millions a year that's all I need, I don't need more. So I have no problem giving the people earning me that money more money or growing (beyond min wage even). I don't need to make record profits every year. What good is more money vs. what you can ever spend in 10 lifetimes? but it's not my world to control and it's hard to say the gov should get involved when it's private businesses. Who are they to say how much one should or shouldn't make. The problem is our gov gets involved in some stuff too much, others not enough and makes a mess. Look at internet issue in the USA for example. We pay the most for the slowest internet because it's so monopolized and regulated because our gov let companies control them with lobby money and other things. The free market in most cases should be able to run. If people can't live off something they won't bother doing it, well if companies need workers they are going to pay as much as it takes to get them. If someone can undercut you sounds like you need to find a more needed skill or get better and show you are better and worth it. If people can't afford stuff they shouldn't buy it. If companies make it too expensive people won't buy it. Similar is for wages. If you're not going to pay me enough to live why should I bother working? I understand employment sucks right now but TBH PLENTY of decent paying jobs exist. The problem is MOST people are lazy or don't want to work hard or are not educated. Like I said the world is not fair. I agree, rich get more rich, poor worse, and middle class is always the most screwed. Some people are born into money, luck into great jobs, ideas etc. Other people come up from nothing and make a difference and become very successful. People need to not ask for hand outs and work for once. That on it's own can spawn another issue. How can you say a guy standing in AC pushing buttons and dropping a basket of fries should get paid the same as the guy standing out in the sun working building someone a home or laying sod etc.? (which even in many cases some of them don't make that much and others they can make more). Just because you work doesn't mean it's hard work and deserves good pay, at the same time laying grass doesn't take much skill either, but it's a harder job probably so should pay a bit better. You know what I would do if I was these fast food places and was greedy like them? The second it goes up all that extra money it would cost me in a year I will buy machines and automate it all. Initially it will cost me but after that I can contract a person to do maint on it all once a week and make even more profit. Now all those people have NO jobs. You will be placing orders yourself from phones or touch screens (some places do this already). A machine will make the food etc. and maybe have 1 employee. This is what happens when you start to make it not worth it to have employees because. If it was a skilled job that's different. Min wage should not be a flat across the board thing because work is not equal, but if I say that who gets to make the call on what jobs get more or not when opinions get involved? Nothing is simple and raising min wage isn't a simple solution as they are trying to make it seem.

It's not really always related to the game server company, it's often the location chosen to host them as many of these game server companies share the same data center providers. Sometimes you can ask them if they use another one in the same location and get flipped TBH MOST of these game server companies are using another budget hosting company and are running these on virtual servers anyway. It's one thing I have hated. EA limits the companies that can run the servers but doesn't impose rules on who they can use to host them really. I wish they would let us build and host our own stuff. We'll see if we can maybe talk to them and see if they have any other hosting providers in similar location they can move us to if no one has already.

I also love sniper but sadly when people start to lose they generally turn to that instead of playing objective. If it was TDM that's totally fine but isn't the point of an objective game to play the objective? If you give up and everyone starts to snipe we never make forward progress. Same time if the other team has you cornered and tons of snipers and DMR, well, you probably are in trouble too. Maybe some sort of double limit? Limit the number of snipers and the number of kills you can have with a sniper rifle per round or XX amount of time? Bah. nothing is simple. I think we are all going to have to suck it up and just get better lol.

I still want to understand how raising min. wage will help people survive better? It's a gimmick. People think it will because they are making more but all they did was accelerate inflation and thus you really aren't making any more and could actually come out worse. $10 for a big mac Don't eat fast food? No problem, gas station cashier $15 and hour, ops, your gas now cost $15 a gal. and so on and so on. Raising min wage doesn't address the issue, not to mention some of those asking for it shouldn't get it. These are not lifelong career jobs. While maybe owning and managing your own place could be the people in those upper positions do make plenty of money... You have to work hard to succeed in life, and even then it won't always work out but life isn't always fair now is it? My other issue is the abuse of gov assistance programs. I am all for helping people in need but I am not for just flat out free handouts. You get laid off, yes you should totally get unemployment and food stamps etc. to help you get by while you try to find a new job (it comes out of your checks for that), but what about these people not even looking for jobs? Or just having kids for more money? The entire system is broken because our failed gov (past and present). How about all the people who aren't looking for jobs be forced to go clean up our streets if they want a check since they aren't contributing to society in any other ways? Disabled people are really the only exception in my book. If you can't work, that's totally different vs. you WON'T cause you don't have too. Maybe then our taxes could go down or stop raising and other stuff wouldn't keep getting more expensive. Not to mention all the people I know that need legit assistance and don't qualify yet those who don't get it. Min wage needs to exist but it has to have a true reason, just like any other gov assistance. The thing is YES these huge companies can afford it but the small ones can't. Oh it won't apply to them? oh but it will, the goods they purchase to remain open now just went up in cost... Major companies do NOT take profit loss. Every company ever y year shoots for increasing profits, not flat line. Even if they make 10 billion a year after all is said and done they want to make more, not remain at flat. That all said, this topic could probably be asking for trouble. It could easily turn offensive to some people and despite it's just our opinions we need to be careful or end it in my opinion. If we want our voices to be heard or known write to your government and show them on voting day. It may or may not help but this isn't going to either and I'd hate to see any heated arguments happen between a bunch of Idiots!

So I noticed the clocks on the homepage are wrong, though TBH does anyone really look at them? PST goes based on CA, USA time but Central and Eastern are by non-US time zones and thus don't account for DST hah. That said I think we should maybe add a few more to account for the popular other zones our players may be in for those who are too lazy to lookup what time it is by them and want to just look at website for easy all view.

On the evo line the 500GB will be faster vs. the 250GB FWIW. It's just how they do the NANDS on them and they type they use. The Pro series is better. Even the 840Pro was better vs. 840 Evo (much newer) but they left some features and tuning off 840 pro they could have added via FW they recently made to not undercut themselves. Now with the 850's out those are better of course. That said any PCI-e SSD CARDS will blow away "drives" speed wise generally as the interface no longer has a bottleneck, just the flash chips do. The problem right now is all these SSD drives are similar in speed because the SATA ports are maxed out on speed basically.

Companies use them for cheap backbone access. None of the other 2 XI servers are on colocrossing datacenters or providers, though the EU one is paid for through same company they are using another provider on the back end to actually service it. Those on some ISP and different geographical locations in the US might not see the issue if it uses another routing path but 2 I check are like that.

What would be great is if a mod flexible enough existed that allowed a higher sniper limit BUT in the event one side is winning by a great % it throttle the limit for them slightly to stop situations when you get trapped at the base and base camped till round end due to sniper and DMR rape hah. It's hard to try to be fair yet make it a fun game but at same time the game isn't fun if one side wins by 500 tickets because other got pushed back early and can't do anything, esp when people start quitting, new people join mid-game, and are like aww. I can't do crap here, bump this server and leave That said, someone will always not be happy, part of life. Anyone have thoughts/suggestions?

So was messing around trying to get SC server going with Pheonixx420 and we found that if you have the defib charged and someone tries to knife you from the front they die 100% of the time lol. It's kind of like the animation breaks your guys arms free but because of that and the charged defibs it just shocks the other guy to death. Happens from side sometimes too but seems to be from front every time. So if ever doing knife only battle and you are a medic just pull the defib and hold the charge, no counter failure worry hah.

I know you got some already but this is just more of some additional info any to help anyone else looking. Here is what I use: http://www.amazon.com/Sharkoon-Xtatic-Headset-Xbox-360-63043006306200/dp/B009YBWXHY One thing to keep in mind is that a lot of "gaming" headsets are not true surround sound (they normally use virtual SS, so emulate it and only have one speaker per ear) and many also don't use a true quality sound card but instead use USB with self-built in audio thus why they require drivers which are just something else to cause fuss. The best sound you can get is a quality sound card and a true gaming headset that sports true 5.1 via use of multiple speakers in each ear. That said this of course cost more. One thing if you go this route is two types of true surround sound exists. One uses multiple analog cables (for the multiple channels) and the other Dolby Digital Live via optical cable. While most computers sport optical output not all support Dolby Digital Live. FWIW I have this as audio since my laptops optical out didn't support Dolby Digital Live http://www.amazon.com/Creative-Soundblaster-Surround-System-SB1095/dp/B0044DEDCA My headset plugs in via digital optical and requires no drivers. The sound card simply dumps true 5.1 channel sound to it and my headphones have 4 speakers/drivers in each ear piece. Sound is amazing Also, any that say 7.1 are a waste. For starts very few true 7.1 exists, simply can't fit that many drivers in a ear piece without it being huge or they being so small they suck and also most of the games are developed for 5.1 only and simulate the rest. So to get gaming 7.1 which chances are virtual SS and on top of allow it to do more simulation for the extra channels that don't really exists your sound is not true. That said it's all preference. Some people hear a sound one way and like it more, even if that is not how its true or intended sound is. Same is true for visual. One person may like a picture with a slightly different color temperature vs. another, regardless of how it was truly designed. Also, more expensive doesn't always mean better. Best recommendation is buy from a place that you can return with little hassle in case you don't "feel" they are much better. Trust me, you get a good set you will notice it night and day and know it's a keeper.

+1 to this. One reason I love this server. Often times conquest over and over gets dull. This even if he doesn't manually flip it at request rotates and mixes things up. Makes playing the same maps not as bad as the different modes use different parts of the map. The conquest ones are still semi long but the other modes are fairly quick so you don't get angry if you get owned as it isn't so bad But yes, let's fill that one up more, lets get all the XI servers full!

Yeah I don't think this is anything your fault or HW issue. I have same problem. It often only happens once per round, sometime not at all but I will be rocking and blasting some fools up and frames drop to teens for a few seconds and go back to normal. It's not memory leak or anything of that such. It's either a driver issue, game bug or combination of both that maybe only specific situations apply with specific HW. I work in IT for a living and have plenty of ways to monitor things, debug things etc. and in each case nothing indicated it was anything with my end and pointed to the game. Your situation COULD be different though. A spike in disk activity, ram usage, CPU usage, GPU usage or temperature could cause also and could be another program causing even. So best thing to do is maybe monitor it all. When it happens to me nothing spikes, the opposite happens, my GPU & CPU usage actually drop down almost like the game just don't want to use the power of it all for a few seconds. I have however seen some people where it ended up being something that bogged down the I/O of the disk and that in turn eats at the CPU time and it was a another program causing. I can say it has gotten a little better tho. It use to be worse so maybe GPU driver as I have only updated that every other week with the new Nvidia ones hah. Anyway hopefully it gets fixed or figured out for us all.

I only bitch when I kill myself. I don't even bitch when Damit slams me into trees or rocks. Anyway no perfect balance can exist because they can't determin things unless the player remains on a server. When a round ends and you get 10-20 people that drop and replaced by new ones anything can happen. Really the only true annoying part I agree with is the squad splitting. Would be nice if it could keep squads and move squads around and not single players so everyone can keep playing with friends etc. That said this may be possible. Maybe if I get some free time I will look into. Most of these things are just fancy scripts, which I have the displeasure of being familure with as I do some coding for a living :/ Sometimes I hate computers... unless I am shooting people of course Beyond that, the only other thing better that could be done is auto looking at a players last few game stats (from any played server). The problem with this is it would create too much load/lag on the server as it would have to query something external for every player and these game server companies seem to ride these suckers to the limit on performance already so they wouldn't be able to handle doing that... If you wanted to get really fancy could prob setup something external to pass the info back and forth but meh... Let's see how BF4 fares lol.
