Im hoping one lasts. But Im already feeling some of the leg pain again.
-
Have not played in a while. Couldn't !!! A month ago I was getting out of the recliner and hit the floor. Freaking leg cramp out the ass !!! While the extreme floor dropping pain subsided after about 15 minutes, it still hurt like hell. So... several Dr. visits later, I have to have lower back surgery. Couple small rods and removal of part of L5. So from L3 thru S1, I will be braced up. Everything is pressing on spinal cord and sciatic nerve. After a month of non stop pain I finally got an injection (prednazone) and that has helped tremendously. That injection (which I can have more) hopefully will last me a few months until surgery. Ive already had three cervical fusions in prior years, so Im gonna be bolted up from top to bottom !!! Almost. Anyhoot, I will hopefully get some play time between now the then !!! While the extreme leg pain is better, my ASS BONE still drives me nuts. So I cant sit for long. Sucks, but Ive been through this shit before with my neck. Hope to frag someone soon !!!

Definitely keep working on originals. Street gets on me all the time for posting covers. While in the 13 years of recording I have quit a few originals, I enjoy recording covers too. If you son is recording on his own (home studio), covers are a great way to learn on. Listen to the original and dissect every instrument you hear. Figure out how the artist came up with particular sound via experimenting with compression, eq, limiting, sidechain processing, panning, automation,.. the list goes on. Sound on Sound magazine is a good magazine and has many "how it was done" articles. I know personally If I hear a song be it new or a classic, I pick out every instrument in the mix. This is a blessing and a curse some times. The curse being sometimes its hard to just enjoy the mix as a whole.

Another UFO tune. They were one of the best live bands out there. Great musicians and they were a "tight" band. This was always a crowd favorite. Love to Love is the tune. Off the "Strangers in the Night" album. Many live albums are, well, not live or they are overdubbed to fix mistakes. This album is noted by musicians as being one of the top 10 of all time best live albums. And there were no overdubs. They had great sound engineer and it shows in the sound quality. And its number 47 on the all time best "Heavy Metal" albums for you metal heads !!! This is actually Slashes favorite live album. The album was recorded in Chicago and Louisville in 1978. Give the whole album a listen. Michael Schenkers' guitar work is fantastic. Also note that during this time period the rhythm guitarist did double duty, he was also the keyboard player. The back and forth lead between the guitar and keyboard is very cool.

UFO !!!! The best band you never heard of !!!! This is my all time favorite band. Saw them every time they came through Ohio. This tune is Cherie !!! A stripper tune !!!

While Im in a Paul Simon mood !!! His second solo album is another must hear album.
-
Krodachrome !!!! What lyrics !!! The whole album is great. Another add to playlist album !!

David Bowie, Putting Out The Fire. Got to love Stevie Ray Vaughans' guitar work. The whole album is a must listen to. Yes my music taste is very eclectic. I listen to anything from Bobby Darrin to Zeppelin. But I draw the line at new country music (sounds all the same). Love old country though. Anyway if you Spotify or whatever, put this album in rotation !!
-
Cozy Powell !!!! One of my all time favorite rock drummers. I know drum solos are not everyone's cup of tea. But this is tastefully done. Saw Rainbow a few time here in Ohio (Hara Arena).

Gonna have a bad apple in the bunch every now and then. I had the same experience with Asus and an Intel i7 2700k build. Read articles on the Asus and figured I would give it a shot. First board was doa and the second worked somewhat. This was a DAW build (music recording rig) and I had nothing but recording issues with the Asus as a DAW pc. Ended up building another DAW rig with a Gigabyte board (as I usually do) and all the issues went away. That Asus and Intel cpu are gathering dust. But everyone has their favorites. Dont get me started on PC cases !!!

Like many others I quit playing for may many years. Wasnt until 2007 (around there), I started playing again and learning how to record multi-track. But , I still dont play as much as I should or want too. Sucks

I always stick with Gigabyte motherboards. Been building pc's since the 80286 days ( early 80's). And in the 100 + pc's I have built. I never have issues with AMD cpu's, and Gigabyte motherboards. Out of those pc's maybe 10 have been Intel based. Had issues with a few of those Intel based builds. So I do nothing but AMD and Gigabyte. Use to only run, DFI Motherboards (Diamond Flower International). But they left the consumer market a few years after they released the "World Famous" LanParty Motherboards !! Still have a couple LanParty boards in boxes. Great boards !!! Shame they only sell industrial boards now. DFI was the company that started the motherboard craze of using colors and focused on both performance and aesthetics. Anyway, use Gigabyte no matter what CPU you choose.

If anyone has an Nvidia RTX card (2060,2070,2080,etc.) I have a code to get a free copy of COD MW. But you have to run a video card verification app. Once it verifies you have a RTX (20 blah blah) then it will let you install. I preordered the game and got a free install via a rebate on my new GPU. PM me if your interested.

Looks great !! 455 ? Not the stock block. Is it a 455SD or 455HO block ? Was big into Firebirds. Family had several in the 70's

What a whiner !!!! You still make sound even with dead silence on !! IF YOU WOULD PICK YOUR EARS, INSTEAD OF YOUR NOSE, MAYBE YOU WILL HEAR US !!!
-
I need to check that out. Love Quake 2, especially the mod with naked women !!!
-
Probably not worth it for current games or older games. But new game development should benefit by the RTX.
-
Spartacus !!!! You are on the jam list !!!

Through out the years I have used several DAW's. Cubase, Pro-Tools, Reaper, Tracktion, Studio One and Waveform. I mainly use Waveform and Studio One now. As far as an easy to learn DAW, then Tracktion 7 is a good choice. Tracktion 7 is an older version of Waveform that is free. https://www.tracktion.com/products/t7-daw Presonus Studio One, which is a great DAW, is a little harder to navigate, but still user friendly. Reaper (i use sometimes) is also a good inexpensive DAW. Not as user friendly as the others, but the cost is good. As far as Mics go, you cant beat the old Shure SM57 and 58 workhorse mics. Plus you need an audio interface to get your music into the pc. Now with the Presonus interfaces you get a copy of the daw Studio One Lite which will do just fine. Like the Presonus 26C or 26 https://www.presonus.com/products/Studio-Series-USB-Interfaces . Inexpensive and good sound. So get a Presonus interface, one Shure SM57 and one Shure SM58, two mic cables and download Tracktion 7 or use the free version of Studio One that comes with the Presonus interface. And start messing around !!!
