  1. I posted a video a while back of my cousin Chris playing drums. Fantastic drummer. Started at age three. But he also sings and plays guitar. Here are three videos of him. First is at our house, just after I finished my man cave (fresh paint). First audio recording I ever made (sucks). He is the one singing and playing guitar. I believe he was 15 at this time. Now he is all grown up and travels the midwest playing local gigs and doing stand ins with other bands. The Gibson in the Stranglehold video has been in his family over 60 years. His Grandpa (my uncle) bought it new. My uncle and his wife and Chris's father Jeff had a country band that played in Columbus and Indian Lake for many years. Any hoot enjoy. The drumming video is especially crazy.
  2. Or better yet. Put them on a USB drive and get in your car and drive up !!! Your only 30 minutes away !!!!
  3. I have Reaper, Studio One, and Waveform (use to be called Tracktion). Any DAW will open rendered wave files and or mp3's, aac, etc. I want clean files, no amp sims what so ever. Trust me on this. I can either re-amp through one of many amps or use Guitar Rig, Waves Amp, Amplitude, Overloud. But if you want to keep that exact tone then render with it on. I have the same Drum plugin you use, plus Slate SSD which is fantastic. If your ass can sing great !!! Saves me from trying. But do send me lyrics.
  4. I was at the Black and Blue show !!!!! Well sort of there. Too many brews and doobies !! Or was it microdots that show ? Or Micheludes (qualude dropped in a Michelob) ? That was a great tour. Some venues BOC opened and others Sabbath opened
  5. Saw them many many times. First being Sept. of 1976. Hara Arena in Dayton. And took all my kids to see them in Cincy during the Snakes and Arrows tour ( June of 2008 I believe). RIP Professor
  6. Great stuff. Love the lead work. You need to dropbox or fileshare me the midi drum files and the DI (unprocessed bass and guitar files) for the My Left Turn tune. Let me work on it in my spare time. Do you have lyrics for it ? If so send those via pm and I will add some vocals and another rhythm guitar track. If no lyrics, then I can put some together. Whats the inspiration behind the tune ? Or if no inspiration I will let my creative juices flow and figure it out. In reaper you can render the tracks individually, then compress them, and then send them. Be sure to render them with any plugins turned off !! I want raw tracks. Of course if you dont want me to work on it, then thats fine too
  7. My backs has been fubar too for a few years. I just have been putting it off, like you. I learned from my neck fusions. Once you get one, then the ones above and below take the brunt of everyday wear and tear. And before you know it, your getting another fusion. So... try all other avenues first !!!
  8. My son showed me the video during Christmas !!! Pretty cool !!
  9. Merry Christmas to all you filthy animals !!!
  10. I can relate to the neck issue. Ive had three neck fusions. Two from the front and the last from the back of my neck. They used a cadaver bone during the second and took a piece of my hip for the other. Since you have a cadaver bone too, do you have visions of another life !!! Like I do !!!
  11. Another old timer !!! Welcome back Jack !!! Waa Hoooo oooo ooo !!!
  12. Im hoping one lasts. But Im already feeling some of the leg pain again.
  13. Have not played in a while. Couldn't !!! A month ago I was getting out of the recliner and hit the floor. Freaking leg cramp out the ass !!! While the extreme floor dropping pain subsided after about 15 minutes, it still hurt like hell. So... several Dr. visits later, I have to have lower back surgery. Couple small rods and removal of part of L5. So from L3 thru S1, I will be braced up. Everything is pressing on spinal cord and sciatic nerve. After a month of non stop pain I finally got an injection (prednazone) and that has helped tremendously. That injection (which I can have more) hopefully will last me a few months until surgery. Ive already had three cervical fusions in prior years, so Im gonna be bolted up from top to bottom !!! Almost. Anyhoot, I will hopefully get some play time between now the then !!! While the extreme leg pain is better, my ASS BONE still drives me nuts. So I cant sit for long. Sucks, but Ive been through this shit before with my neck. Hope to frag someone soon !!!
  14. Definitely keep working on originals. Street gets on me all the time for posting covers. While in the 13 years of recording I have quit a few originals, I enjoy recording covers too. If you son is recording on his own (home studio), covers are a great way to learn on. Listen to the original and dissect every instrument you hear. Figure out how the artist came up with particular sound via experimenting with compression, eq, limiting, sidechain processing, panning, automation,.. the list goes on. Sound on Sound magazine is a good magazine and has many "how it was done" articles. I know personally If I hear a song be it new or a classic, I pick out every instrument in the mix. This is a blessing and a curse some times. The curse being sometimes its hard to just enjoy the mix as a whole.
  15. How old ?
  16. Another UFO tune. They were one of the best live bands out there. Great musicians and they were a "tight" band. This was always a crowd favorite. Love to Love is the tune. Off the "Strangers in the Night" album. Many live albums are, well, not live or they are overdubbed to fix mistakes. This album is noted by musicians as being one of the top 10 of all time best live albums. And there were no overdubs. They had great sound engineer and it shows in the sound quality. And its number 47 on the all time best "Heavy Metal" albums for you metal heads !!! This is actually Slashes favorite live album. The album was recorded in Chicago and Louisville in 1978. Give the whole album a listen. Michael Schenkers' guitar work is fantastic. Also note that during this time period the rhythm guitarist did double duty, he was also the keyboard player. The back and forth lead between the guitar and keyboard is very cool.
  17. UFO !!!! The best band you never heard of !!!! This is my all time favorite band. Saw them every time they came through Ohio. This tune is Cherie !!! A stripper tune !!!
  18. While Im in a Paul Simon mood !!! His second solo album is another must hear album.
  19. Krodachrome !!!! What lyrics !!! The whole album is great. Another add to playlist album !!
  20. David Bowie, Putting Out The Fire. Got to love Stevie Ray Vaughans' guitar work. The whole album is a must listen to. Yes my music taste is very eclectic. I listen to anything from Bobby Darrin to Zeppelin. But I draw the line at new country music (sounds all the same). Love old country though. Anyway if you Spotify or whatever, put this album in rotation !!
  21. Cozy Powell !!!! One of my all time favorite rock drummers. I know drum solos are not everyone's cup of tea. But this is tastefully done. Saw Rainbow a few time here in Ohio (Hara Arena).
  22. Another fantastic tune !!! From a great album. Highly recommend it for any of you budding guitarists !!! This is an album I never tire of hearing. Yes Album !! Vinyl is King !!!
  23. White Punks On Dope !!!! Yes I was one back in the late 70's !!!
  24. What Do You Want From Life ? Be sure to click on the show more to read the lyrics.
  25. Proud To Be An American !!!!
