This was done a few years back. I had forgot all about this tune and two others I did for the band. My studio pc took a shit and I just got the new one put together a month ago. Been reloading all the crap I have recorded (of myself and other bands) for the past 10 years. Came across some stuff that I had forgot about, this being one. Would love to do a proper recording of the tune and try different approaches and layer a shit ton of tracks.

On a similar subject. Seems a few tech companies and a tech college are working on monitors that can be focused. Meaning you plug in your glasses prescription and its in focus. No more glasses, well, at least for computer work.

No, its not me. Wasn't done in a living room , well actually my man-cave. Its a local band I know. I just recorded and rough mixed this one. Like I said, it was done as a "demo". All members playing in same room at the same time. Just added a few extra guitar tracks during the rough mix. The band actually got a huge deal back in the early 2000's. Toured with some major bands. But due to the economic shit in the early 2000 and bad label management, nothing ever panned out for them. Life happens Below are pics of where we recorded. Just a small home studio. Its a mess. Wife says I need to de-clutter.

Hey Bart !! I just built a 2700X too !!!! Stock cooler is more than adequate. My damn studio pc bit the dust (motherboard went bad) and I had to put together another one. I went with the Gigabyte X470 Gaming 5 motherboard. As far as cpu heat, no issues what so ever and the stock cooler is pretty damn quiet.

Streaming services are "Ok". I subscribe to both Spotify and Pandora, and they are ok for what they are. But nothing beats the sound of a "good" vinyl pressing played on a "good" sound system. Well maybe Reel to Reel on a good system. Been around digital music since its inception and while its come a long way, its still not on par with analog (IMHO). But it still comes down to play back equipment used, as to what results you get. In the digital world, I prefer Burr-Brown or Wolfson DAC chips. Those two manufacturers chips sound more analog to me than say Cirrus Logic, Sabre, etc.. But I have yet to hear the newer Sabre32 ES9018K2M chip. It gets good marks on paper, but I rely on my ears. I have a Yamaha R-N602 that I use exclusively for streaming music from Spotify or Pandora and it uses the Burr Brown DSD 1791 chip (reason I went with it). We use it for streaming music outside. But if your only streaming music, then research and listen to the various DAC's out there. Especially if your streaming music via your TV's dac or Chromecast. You will hear a huge difference.

Yeah, not too many games will take advantage of the cores. But I do other cpu intensive stuff. Plus when I upgrade I use it for years. I installed 10 on a laptop a few years back and immediately forced updates to stop (manual). Not as easy as forcing 7 to stop in "process manger". If you stopped and selected manual start in 10 , it would restart a few days later or sooner on its own. Fuckers. So it took some digging but, I found a stop. Glad to hear they are realizing "updates" can mess with programs that people rely on in both business and relaxing. But I read its not a complete stop of the service (end of service updates still happen). I will just keep using the version I got. I know its update is dead in its tracks.
