  1. I have been very happy with it for a long time now, have switched all my pc's over to it, and most of the ones I have set up for people, i have even went back and switched them over to it. Run it in junction with the free Malwarebytes, and spywareblaster. I do recommend changing the scheduled scan type to a "full" scan. it doesn't find much on the quick setting, even on known infected pc's, but the full will find it if it's there.
  2. I really wish I could have made it. we were running all day yesterday. I didn't know killa very well, but I did get the chance to know him just a little bit. and from the few times we played, I can agree he was a great guy, loads of fun to play with with and talk to. I think it's great what you all do for keeping his memory alive, maybe I'll get to join in next year.
  3. he was somewhere between george jones and joe dirt
  4. On the Christmas party day at school, the children brought gifts for their teacher. The florist's son brought the teacher a bouquet of flowers. The candy-store owner's daughter gave the teacher a pretty box of candy. Then the liquor store owner's son brought up a big, heavy box. The teacher lifted it up and noticed that it was leaking a little bit. She touched a drop of the liquid with her finger and tasted it. "Is it Scotch ?" she guessed. "No," the boy replied. She tasted another drop and asked, "Champagne?" "No," said the little boy......... .........."it's a PUPPY!!"
  5. Merry CHRISTmas!! from Arkansas.

  7. BudSrXI I saw that at WalMart just a couple days ago, and almost bought it. May have to go ahead and get it next time I go back.
  8. this seems fitting. Lynyrd Skynyrd
  9. excellent song. only wish I was old enough to have seen them in concert before the crash. I was born a little too late, but I have seen the newer 7 times.

Not totally new here. Registered a long time ago, just haven't been around much. I have a blast playing in MW with ya'll. It's a great time, with great idiots. I'm a factory worker by day, in one of the surviving factories in my hometown, making precision optics. I hobby dabble in electronics repair, mainly cb radios, and I also build, and maintain pc's on the side. I play many games including the entire series of COD from first to Black Ops, Crysis, Left 4 Dead 1 and 2, F.E.A.R. and Perseus Mandate, and the first HALO. And even still have a couple of the Delta Force games left, and Conflict Desert Storm, but haven't played those in years. Like many of the truckers on here, my name spawns from my cb handle, Simple Man via Lynyrd Skynyrd. The mod400 part is just for pc name, derived from my first truck. I enjoy making new friends here at XI, and gaming with you. Have a wide range of music from Classic Rock, and Country, to grunge, and modern rock. All time Favorite is LYNYRD SKYNYRD!! I haven't gamed much in the last year or so, so I'm really rusty, but it's coming back to me slowly. Thanks for taking the opportunity to kill me... but watch out for my knife, I'm starting to like that.
  12. I ran AVG for years until MSE came out. Been using it since beta, and been very happy with it so far.
  13. renaming the malwarebytes install file before installing it in safemode worked for me on 3 different pc's all with that virus. after running in safemode, it removed enough of the virus to let MB run in normal windows. it completely fixed 2 of the 3, with the 3rd one still having the web hijacker to oddball stuff for search results. they wanted a new pc anyway, so that just gave them the excuse they wanted, so it was still a happy customer. these were all XP systems, if that makes any difference. hope you got it resolved by now anyway.

    great

thanks for the input. the GTX460 is looking like the winner. some overtime at work will get that taken care of soon. even though the 8600gt is getting rusty, it has performed great with everything I've thrown at it until now, which is why I opted to post in this section, kind of felt like it was game specific, not general pc.

    great

Having a blast playing with ya'll again. Haven't been around for a while. you know how it goes. anyway, was just wondering what FPS ya'll are averaging. I am somewhere between 27 to 40 something. am debating on a new video card or something, I would like to get into the 60's or better. some input would be great. i have: intel core 2 quad @ 2.4ghz 4gig ram 8600gt @ 512mB win 7 x64
  16. i just remembered this. someone said they had slow issues with chrome as well. I read somewhere while I was tracking through the muck on firefox that chrome has a stack overflow problem too. as of right now, seems that the dreaded internet explorer is the only one working properly, which happens
  17. i guess i'm not the only one with major issues as of lately. im not planning on doing a vista reinstall, i think i'll just wait and get 7. Ive got plenty other pcs to use till I get around to it. just wondering what your causes were for the reinstalls. mine was mianly intermittent internet connection... until last night. now the entire system locks up tight for no reason, once it was just running the screen saver. anyway, still somehow think that firefox had something to do with it. google turned up a lot of angry firefox users with my exact prob.
  18. you are all so lucky. I guess some how firefox killed my vista machine. the 3.5.3 update was a major crash for a lot of people. killing usage of internet intermitently. the browser has all kinds of major problems, but the update 3.5.4 came out yesterday. I would suppose that it fixed a lot problems, the main one being adobe flash player plugin not being compatible with 3.5.3. but now my machine is locking up completely locking the system up, only button that works is the power or reset buttons. oh well, gonna upgrade to windows 7 in the next couple weeks. by the way, i have run firefox for years, and this is the first time Ive had any trouble with it. also run vista for almost 2 years now, and the first major foul up with it too.
