CplMOFO The 2600K'sOC on air is way superior to what you can get out of a i7 950... The 2600K OCed is way up there with the 6-core i7 980X.... For the 8x/8X crossfire /SLI setup, there is a difference in performance between this and 16x/16x, but it's within 5% in the worst conditions, so it's not worthy of being mentioned...but there is a very slim difference.... (never worth the price!!!!!). Good stuff on the UNLOCKED 6950's nightmare!!!! I'm getting a 2600K, a Noctua d14 Big mofo heatsink, a Gigabyte or MSI mobo with 8x/8x...2 x 4GB RAM sticks...I'll kep my Radeon HD5870 and 22" LCD monitor for this year.... That's if I'm not winning the lottery! I'm giving my OCed Q9550 Quad to my daughter...she's spoiled... well said with the 16x/16x difference good choice of the hardware.... btw my 6950s are running stable with 6970 bios and 950/1450 mhz....

I didnt tell you to buy the RAM I have....lol...sorry just wanted to tell you the difference between 1600 and 2000 its not just a little bit just have a look if you can find some Gskill ddr3 2000+ I found some Gskill RAM somewhere(not at newegg) but have no idea where lol...and it was designed for P67 dont just look at the timings....because of the higher mhz it will work faster http://www.gskill.com/news.php?index=401 edit: just read the review at xtremesystems.org like you mentioned thats the RAM you should look for ....I am an idiot

maybe have a look for some faster RAM this is what I have 8 GB G.Skill RipJaws PC3-16000 DDR3-2000 running the RAM at 1600 or 2000 is a real difference imho depends on which OC settings are enabled I start up my pc with 1600 or 2000

Kemble I noticed, not 1 motherboard yet supports both the new "Sandy Bridge" processor and PCIE-16 x 2 at 16x16. Sure they support 16x1 but once you put in Dual cards it drops the bandwidth to 8x8. Thus only getting 1/2 your cards potential when running SLI or Crossfire. they will never support 16x16 I think I have a socket 1156 and its the same with this look at my specs most of the time the reducing part will be the cpu not the gpu for sure even if you run it at 4GHZ+ like I do I have 2x modded 6950 in crossfire and I have almost 100 frames at highest settings 1920x1080 in CW so dont worry about the 8x8 lol

looks like you are a bit unlucky atm.... I found this here GTX 460 test they say : The GTX-460 lineup is SLI capable but you can see from the single connector that Nvidia is only going to allow 2 of these in SLI. So, if your looking at triple SLI you'll need to move to the GTX-465 or above. didnt know that, sorry man, I am better with crossfire setups

I have 3 per ports and only 1 is in use for cooling fans and other 2 with nothing as everything is s-ata. Thanks for the info. I was just getting ready to research the card to see what it said about the power hook ups. hope it works LOL learning by doing is what happens to me most of the time.... a PSU is the most overlooked part of a PC. PNY 460 OC look at the general specs: Power Connector 2 x 6 Pin System Requirements Minimum 450W or greater system power supply (with a minimum 12V current rating of 38A) your psu has 20A-25A on each 12V rail if you use a splitter you are going to run the card that needs 38A on a rail with a max of 25A the result will be crashes on high load this is your PSU? you can try the adapters dogg suggested but each adapter has to be connected at a several 12V connection I dont know how many of your 4pin peripherie connectors are not connected yet... MoeBetta Im going with the GTX570 , ATi has given me driver issues on Xp and Vista too many times....I do admit that the Gtx 400 series was a blunder. you will have a lot of issues if the net.framework is not installed properly or corrupted somehow...so true lol I had this a couple of times....but not a big deal if yyou know how to fix it... atm its just a matter of taste what to order the GTX 570 is as good as my modded 6950....but still the 6950 is a lot cheaper

cbags - iw3mp.exe error????? I tried to get into COD4 Ace mod and couldn't. The iw3mp.exe error kept coming up. I can get in the freezetag servers just fine. Any help would be really appreciated. maybe thats the "no-bags-allowed" server? or your hacks were detected by a higher power.....who knows lmfao I tried to play cod4 the last week but had a lot of issues as well... same error like you have and a lot more... one of my favourites: Disallowed Program/Driver 125120

hardcore nope, only have 2 plug for each one of the ports. Now looking at the specs of the cards. They have a 6 pin power cable which leads me to believe it is only one 6 pin plug for card. Going ahead and ordering the plug. Just in case. Would rather 3 way sli if i can. which card did you order? the gigabyte 460 overclocked needs 2x6pin for each card its just if the psu cant handle the power requirements for three cards these adapters wont help because you have to live with endless crashes under full load

I think you will need 2x6pin for each card and it looks like your psu can handle dual SLI only
