Most new games need an internet connection. So, play the classics - Counter Strike 1.6 - Quake (1. 2, 3 Arena) - Half-Life - Unreal Tournament - Sauerbraten - Nexuizz (careful, there are two versions, a commercial and an open source version Sauerbraten is open source and available for Windows and Linux. It remembers me of Quake. It's a lot of fun as it is a very fast game. Nexuizz is similar to UT and also available for Windows and Linux.
