@@CobraBites The Server has has a spawn protection of 4 seconds. It seems that this protection does not work correctly everytime. Sometimes I am not able to stay alive for more than 4 seconds. Especially when a small Map is running and the Server is full

I never had the Full Version as default. And I am glad about that. On GPRS/Edge the full is Version unuseable. There is a button on the bottom of the mobile pages to switch to the full version.

I like the way you play. I allways lmao when you knife me while i shoot you xD But i can mit understand why some players are camping as this is a run and gun server. But everyone to their own style. A camper beacon (like in Counter Strike) would ne nice to have...

The IP changes every day? o_O If it does a "normal" subdomain would be useless, as every day someone has to change the record for it to the new IP, or a dyndns service has to be set up. @@ucjohn donated a TS as long as the old one is not useable (afaik). Is it a dynamic IP?. Didn't notice that the IP changed. If it does, i have a TS with a Teamspeak Community License setup (and static address). But i think johns is a static IP too. Everything else would be useless for a large community like XI. :-)

Had this prob with CoD 4 until two weeks ago. Some mapchanges were ok, suddenly: mapchange -> BAM! Black screen, seemed like the Monitor went into power save. But is wasn't. I unplugged the HDMI cable and plugged in again and what did i see? Critical DirectX error. Im remembered that i have installed a new game a few days ago. (The Witcher). I deleted the game in Steam and voila: no more errors. I only get disconnected after downloading an New map, thats all... And normal for me in the meanwhile. lol

djMot I blather on ALL Microsoft products, not only Windows 8. ;-) Unfortunately there is now way to avoid them. I use Ubuntu @ work (I had the choice between Windows and Ubuntu) and i am more productive with it than with Windows. It's highly customizeable and much more secure than Windows. I am using Windows only for gaming and for radio transmissions as there is no applicable alternative to SAM. So don't bash me :-P Greetz Tech

It's time to get Linux more pupular on desktops or a perfect emulator to run the popular games and programs without any problems Windows su*ks. No matter which version....

He wants to try out Windows 8 and not to remove it. Gorilla was wondering about that some programs run without installtion and if some others have to be installed in Win 8 to use them. Depending on how deep a program "digs" into the system and has nothing to do with user permissions. F.e. Steam needs Registry entries to work. First you have to install a fresh Steam. After that you can create a shortcut to your "original" Steam folder and play any game which has been downloaded nefore. Once used it MAY lead into permission issues when you go back to Win7 I'm using Win XP Pro & Win 7 Pro without such issues. It seems that there are more problems with Windows 8 and some old games like CoD 2 or CoD 4...

Close any programm which generates internet traffic, and check again. Coole you post a trace to one of the servers at this Monent? Start-> run Type cmd and press Enter Type: tracert and the server IP without the port (f.e tracert 8.8.8. Post a scrennshot :-) You can also use WinMTR which does multiple traces and it's faster than the Windows command.

Oh, and a friend of mine gets kicked with "key already in use" (Steam Version, and a copy from a video shop)

Try the following things 1: let Steam check the integrity of the game files. (Right cklick the game -> properties) 2: close steam, go to your steam folder (C:\Program Files\Steam f.e.), rename the file "clientregistry.blob" to "clientregistry.blob.bak" or delete it. Don't bother, it will be recreated when you restart the steam client. Login to his account.

+1 for Gorilla's post. There are two or three maps i don't like. Doesn't matter. Sink or swim... Also I have the choice to disconnect or spectate. So what? Great job for a great server. Greetings Tec|-|

WTF? Where did you see it? o_O Here in germany you don't get it under 65-70€ (black) and 75-90€ for the white one. ~50€ is the price for a R.A.T. 5.

You can do several things: - restrict their Windows permissions to "User" - deny all outgoing traffic to destination port 53 (standard DNS Port) and permit the DNS servers you like (Google f.e. uses the IPs 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4) in the Windows firewall, or on your router if it - prevent the tool to be used if you know the excact name of the .exe file. in the windows firewall or with other windows settings like "program execution rules" just some hints Some screenshots for adding rules to your Windows firewall: 1. open your control panel, go to "windows firewall" and choose advanced settings 2. create a new outbound rule (see screenshots) and name it "DNS deny" 3. repeat the steps and create an ALLOW rule with the same Port (53), name it DNS Allow 4. The new rules now appear in the list of your outbound rules - right click on the DNS and choose "properties" 5. select the "Scope Tab" and choose "These IP addresses" in the "Remote IP Adress" field. 6. add all DNS Servers you like to use. (For example 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) This should work

Ok, i had a quick look at her puter @work She can not use the "Post" button for a quick reply. (it is visible but not useable) Answering with "More reply options" works. She has an old version of Firefox running (12.0). Unfortunately i had not the time to test it with IE or with an updated Firefox (i was @work ) Told her to update the Fox and try it again. Just waiting for an answer :-) *written with the crappy Apple mobile*
