Ok you do not need the tool,clean it off real good and there is a plastic sleeve inside you push in to release the line.

well you going to have to pull the transfercase 1st all down hill from there, if your on your back yes it is a pain. need to spray your exhaust bolts/nuts and let them soak and hope they dont break off pb blaster or wd40 i prefer the pb blaster my self

While you are there you should replace everything...... if you dont you will be doing it again. It went out for a reason
