This is one of the aircraft I worked on before I retired from active duty. The S-3B Viking.  Now it belongs to VX-30 in Pt. Magu, California....notice the WWII paint scheme.  They use it now for a chase plane for test and evaluation purposes.

Click on the pic...it will get bigger.

Actually it was used as a carrier based  submarine finder and killer also know as ASW (Anti Submarine Warfare), later in its life it was used as a tanker (fuel)  for the other carrier based aircraft.

Nice pic. But not only the Navy flys. Here is a pic from when I was in the Air Force stationed at Langley AFB, 71st Fighter Squadron. I worked avionics on this plane.

I worked on those to Deejay.....The A-6E Intruder,  I was in VA-52 Knightriders, out of Whidbey Island, Wa. from 1988-1991,

I also worked on  A-7E Corsairs out of Lemoore, Ca...from 1979-1988.  The A-6 was a carrier based Medium Attack aircraft ....it carried alot of bombs.....the KA-6 was a tanker....we would go aboard ship with  12 bombers and 4 tankers  and alot of people to maintain them....they decommisioned them in 1998  Cry
