I just want to let those of you know where I am with my journey to get SSD. I was denied the fir4st try, but I appealed and on my appeal I wrote a nasty little note stating that the reason I was denied was BS. Obviously it must have hit s raw nerve as they have since had me do a completely new set of examinations both physical and psychological. As it happened the first time I had them all done in the summer when I always do better. This time I am doing it in the winter and I as a rule don't do so good. As was the case now! My physical examination was complete and thorough to the point where the Dr tried with all his might to force my knees to go backward and that hurt like hell. He did that twice and I yelled both times from pain! Then last week I did my psycho analysis and as luck would have it I was not having a good day, so they saw what I deal with regularly. Today I went and had a complete set of x-rays taken of my neck and knees and back. The tech was very thorough and made sure the pix were very clear for the radiologist! Now all I can do is wait and see what happens.God I need your prayers in what ever way you pray or remember someone please do it. My hands are numb just typing this so I cant feel the keys very much at all! I know there are manby more important crisis in the world than me getting SSD, but I would appreciate your support as I have had no electric power for a year now. I am not crying about it just tired of being a hobo ion my own home! Any questions please feel free to ask! Thanks to one and all for your support thro this trying time for me!

The process seems almost medieval in parts!

I do hope you get the help you need for a reasonable standard of living, Dean.

A local friend has had to undergo a similar process for disability benefits here to

comply with new government efforts to weed out those deemed "fit" to work.

He's a former long-distance truck driver whose spine is now ****ed! So, he

turned up for his appointment, hobbled in with a stick and sat down, waiting for

ten minutes to be assessed. He was initially classified as fit as he had been "able

to walk in" and "could sit for ten minutes"! No account was taken of the constant pain

he suffers. All his benefits were stopped and he had to go through an appeal process

to have them restored. He isn't work-shy; he isn't physically able to work. I was

disgusted by the way he was treated to meet a political target (and this was brought in by

a government over here supposedly "moderated" by Liberal Democrats holding office in

its Cabinet!). The disabled persons' charities have spoken out about the way people are

being treated. There is so little compassion in this country any more.
