Stripers are some of the best eating fish you can find. You can cook them any way you can imagine and it's always good. My favorite is on the grill with mayo, dill and onion. It even makes a decent crab substitute in a pinch.

 

My personal record is a 38 pounder out of San Francisco bay, but we weighed it and set it loose. Big breeders are getting rare and I'd rather let it spawn a few more times, and the ones under 20 inches are the best eating anyway.

RIP I hope those weren't "Bearded Clams" you used for bait . . .lol . .nice stringer of fish

 

 

Kudos to you Little Old Man for practicing Catch and release on your big striper, Like you say those big ones are not as good to eat.
