Wondered if any body shoots 6.5x55 Swedish using factory ammo not reloads. If so is there any chance you can measure the cartridge over all length of the factory rounds and post them. Looking for 120grain 139grain and 140grain bullets for a project I am working on.

I shoot a 6.5x55, sorry but I don't have any factory ammo. All I have is hand loaded ammo. But I do know how important OAL. is in thes old rifles.Seating the bullets just off the lands gives the best results.

What are you trying to do? The type of bullet, brand of bullet etc makes a different on over all length. You must use the bullet manufacture OAL.

Experienced reloaders can seat bullets just off the lands as MR.THJ stated. This is easy to do but BE VERY CAREFULL. If you do not have enough experience get with someone who can show you.

This is a great caliber and the old army rifles are great shooters.

Another issue may be the OAL fitting into the clip.

The rifle I am reloading for is a custom built jobby. It has a tight chamber I am interested in the measurements of different brands of factory ammo to help me build ammo for it.

I have been re loading my own ammunition for probably 20 years so I do have a idea what I am up to. I had it out to the range over the week end to chrono some loads at 50 yards they are all going through the same hole.
