Usually I try to keep my CPU temp at 35-40 degrees C but just noticed my cpu temp is hovering at 50-60 C. Is this normal? Or do I need a new fan, it sounds like i do since I dont hear it hitting top speed when I adjusted the fan speed in the desktop BIOS program. added a snapshot of my system that has temps and details. I always get aftermarket coolers for my gaming pcs. Ideally you want to keep it below 70c. here is a great aftermarket fan with a good price on it. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103099

I have the gigabyte motherboard that has the fan monitor to view real time rpms. I just used a different tool to post the info. Yes i have a stock intel cpu fan/heatsink but its dine a very good job of keeping it in the 35-40° range even when gaming. Only game that causes it to get stressed to get a higher temp was BO2 at full graphics. But cod4 maxed out never phases it. I was only taking a quiz on my internet browser when this happened. Im also a little behind on the monthly dusting of the tower as it is. Going to reapply silver thermal compound. My motherboard and cpu is only a lear old from when i bought it.

I forgot to dust for a couple months and dropped my temps about 6 degrees all around. I would still recommend an aftermarket cooler if you got the spare funds for it. that one i linked up there is good. stock coolers are notoriously shitty and usually the bearings will go out on the fans if you put it under much stress. I just put an aftermarket cooler on my graphics cards and dropped temps under stress about 20-25 degrees

Ive had best luck with either rocketfish or coolermaster or thermaltake cpu coolers. My psu doubles as a case fan but not cool air. It pulls the air out. I need to install a fan to bring cool air in also. I cant fork out too much funds running off unemployment so i have to stick woth what bestbuy has.

I will still have to purchase a case fan as added thermal reduction but for now it is running 30-35C. Also looked into fixing the LED lights that light my front panel which should show a blue spider but both the resistors are fried on both LED's.

Ive always kept my CPU at 30-45C even when playing demanding games.
