I know here where I live, the cops are NOT allowed to turn their tapes off. A cop friend of mine had a lady that was drunk as all get out and he brought her to the PD and she was throwing herself around, even threw herself against some glass and then ran at a door. She was banged up pretty badly and tried to say he abused and beat her BUT little did she know, the camera was on the whole time.
