So WTF is wrong with the WTF server? It came in with a bang and now nobody is playing it at all. Playing DM with the same maps is getting really old. There are some new maps I've never seen before on WTF but nobody seems to be interested in playing.

RIP Dick Winters. He and the men of Easy Company are the reason we all know each other.

WOW Rugger, I and everybody else seems to really be enjoying the Hell out of WTF. I too have been having the 999 ping issues. Several people have mentioned that all the smoke and dust might be causing many of the issues so maby toning it down a bit might help. The only downsides I hear from most people are the cow frags are kind of a pain. If you try to cook it the graphic blocks out your view, and you also eliminate trips with them because they're so obvious. The addition of the gunship would be really cool and flame throwers as well, especially with an extra long range on the flame. Other than that all I can say is THANK YOU!. You've made COD2 fun again. I was getting burned out and not playing nearly as much, now I'm addicted.

I had the same problem last week. It happened right after I played DM Area 51 and the system auto downloaded a new iwd file to my PC. When I went to play CTF a whille later, I got the black screen and couldn't play. I then went in and deleted the last iwd file from my PC and was able to get back into CTF. As I recall it was xit.iwd but my system has since re-downloaded that file and I can play all servers with no problems. I just figured it was a temporary glitch. For those of you still having the problem try deleting that iwd file and see what happens.

I wish more people would play CTF, but I understand how boring it gets killing loader all of the time.

Wow and I thought we were idiots. That guy has his own salt water fishing show and didn't have a clue how to fight and land a fish of that size. I am amazed he managed to get it to the boat while it was anchored and so close to bridge pilings. Sorry for ranting, but I've fished the Pacific coast for over 30 years, and that guy just didn't seem to know what he was doing. Having said that, it was still a great f**king fish.

I loved the "Valley Summer" map even before I was an XI clan member a long time ago. Dawgy if you could design another map on the same basic premise as that map, it would be a hit.

Thanks Rugger. I really missed that XICTF map you designed. It's a great map and I'm glad it's back. Not sure why it's there, but there was a map that Phrog and I just tried out that was mouse something or another. It's a fantastic map, but appeared as DM rather than CTF. I'll bet the guys in DM would love that one if it can't be converted easily to CTF.

I know that there are some maps that don't work well or at all for CTF, so I'm only basing my choices on what looks appealing. I say let's try the newer ones first and go from there. The CTF servers on COD2 have been abandoned because the maps are either boring or so old that people are very tired of them. Just about any time I check no matter what time of day or night, the server is empty of players. The CTF servers are where I cut my teeth on this game and what introduced me to the XI clan. There have been many great maps there over the last couple years and I think it would be a good idea to post what our choices are and have a vote by clan members for which ones to run. As I recall, some of the best maps were designed by our own members and I for one would enjoy seeing them back. The DM maps seem to be pretty popular right now, but there are a few that are really bad such as Highlife. It would be nice to see a couple fresh maps thrown into the rotation. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks everybody for the birthday wishes. I'm turning 50 and it's all downhill from here. Hopefully I'll be playing for many years to come with this great bunch of people on XI.

APE>XI<ADM: I have been (or was) and XI member for the past year, but my membership was dropped when the new web site was set up in September and I haven't been able to log into my old account since then. I am reapplying under my old user name (little_old_man) and will make an effort to visit the new web site on a regular basis.
