Congrats to TBB for becoming Octobers Member of the Month
little_old_man replied to Ruggerxi's topic in User Announcements
Who did TBB have sex with to get the votes? J/K, congrats TBB. Don't forget that you must buy all of the previous MOTM recipients a case of beer each. -
Dean, It depends on what you drive. If you own a car that's worth a lot and/or you are still making payments on it then you need full coverage with a lower deductible. If you're driving an older used car that isn't worth a lot then I would strongly suggest getting liability only coverage. It's very cheap and covers you in case you cause an accident, but if your car gets wrecked they don't pay anything if it's your fault. The online insurance web sites are great for shopping coverage but some are horrible with claims. Don't be afraid to talk to a local insurance broker that represents many different companies. Contrary to what most people believe you don't pay a penny more dealing with an agent than you would going directly to an insurance company yourself, or dealing with an online insurance agent. Plus you generally get much better service from local agents.

Very cool, thanks for posting it.

Hxtr, the JKF quote in your signature is fake. Look it up on a website other than ConspiracyNutJobs.com. -

It's important to have priorities in life. As I have grown older, I've learned that pleasing everyone is impossible, but pissing everyone off is a piece of cake. The pictures shown below reflect how everyone has different priorities in life, and how what may be very important to us isn't necessarily important to somebody else. Enjoy.......

I can't explain Bldg 7 Hxtr, and I'm not trying to. But we're not talking about building 7, we're talking about the picture you posted. It could have been taken at Bldg 7, or WTC 1 or 2 or a fucking bridge demolition in Utah. Without somebody taking credit for the photo and telling us what it is and when it was taken it's all speculation. As I've said numerous times before, Americans are a spiteful bunch and for there to be a conspiracy of this magnitude there would literally have to be thousands of people involved and every single one of them keeping this secret. And out of those thousands of people there isn't a single one of them who can't sleep at night because of guilt at all of those deaths and decides to spill the beans just to get back at an old supervisor or somebody in power? Besides all of the dead at WTC we also have to consider the people who died in the planes and the speculation of it being a missile and not a jet that hit the pentagon. If that's the case where is the plane and the people who where on it? How did the pentagon plane which by the way was watched on radar all the way to the pentagon get taken off radar and switched with a missile in the seconds before impact? One big conspiracy? I don't fucking think so. I'm done wasting time on this. -

Sorry Hxtr but I agree with DJ. Who took the picture and when. Firemen were at the site for weeks after the towers fell gathering body parts and putting out hot spots. The beams may have been cut to get them out of the way for the firemen. You're assuming that the picture was taken within a day or two of the towers falling, but like DJ says there are tons of manipulated pictures out there and I always look at pics such as these with a skeptical eye. Even if that one angle cut beam was blown up with thermite it would not look like that. Anybody who has even a basic knowledge of torch cutting/welding can tell that a cutting torch did that, not an explosion that could have sheered it in a millisecond. There wouldn't be all of the hot drip marks from an explosive cut. -
This country just abolished college tuition fees
little_old_man replied to Damage_inc-'s topic in General Discussion
Hmmm, Germany has 2.3 million students in college, the US has over 20 million. We're too busy paying the poor to stay poor so they keep voting democrat to take on something that big. -
I'm horrible at these. I only know the most basic ones.

DJ hit the nail on the head. Sky scrapers are simply great big Jenga games. The strength of the structure relies entirely on the strength of the supporting framework. Remove or weaken a single piece and the entire structure comes down. "Truthers" is a term that got really popular after 9/11 refering to people who are alway seeking what they see as the truth. They never believe the excepted explanation especially if it's our government telling us. I run into this a lot with the man made global warming fanatics. I KNOW that global warming is real and has been for the last 11,500 years since the last ice age ended and will continue until the next ice age begins. Man may be speeding the process up but I'm not entirely convinced of that yet. Where I strongly disagree with others is when they tell us that we need to by hybrid cars, CFL light bulbs and solar panels to magically fix the entire problem. The Obama administration has the global warmining propaganda machine in high gear right now. The entire world runs on oil, coal and natural gas. Our population is exploding, and there simply is no way to change those things unless some scientist perfects cold fusion tomorrow and we stop making so many babies. Al Gore has become a billionaire spreading his bullshit and yet he doesn't practice what he preaches. Convincing people they need to buy products to save the planet is all a money grab, and it's working like a charm. -

Finally ready to do some all grain beer brewing
little_old_man replied to Tron's topic in General Discussion
When I was a kid an old timer that lived up the road from me ran his riding mower on home-made hooch. Moonshine is one of those all-purpose products. You can drink it, drive it, put it on cuts, and if you're out of starter fluid for the BBQ it's handy as well. -

I used to make my own home-brew but mine never had a head on it and had a little more than 6% by volume. -
There are different versions for the Canadian Navy, US Navy and a few other's that I've heard. But it's still funny.

In COD2 when you aim through smoke you still get the name of the other player if your crosshairs move over them. We also have an option to turn most of the smoke off in the game settings. Not sure how it works on COD4 but smoke doesn't offer a lot of protection on our server. It is a really good tool for blinding campers though, especially if they have an older graphic card and it slows their refresh rate down.

I suppose that's better than having one when you eat a hot dog.

Yeah, I didn't notice the Korean writing until after I posted it. The video title says Japanese.
