In all seriousness, I really don't have people in my past that I care to communicate with that I don't already know how to reach. My youngest daughter practically lives on FB, and I get to hear about all of the whining when somebody posts a comment she didn't like, or hear about somebody who was unfriended and so on. My sister in law was stupid enough to post her home address and phone number on her profile, and that resulted in her computer being hacked and their bank accounts being compromised, and people just love to look up old boy or girlfriends on FB to rekindle an old flame when their marriage or current relationship isn't going as expected. NO FUCKING THANKS. My life is complicated enough without all of the extra drama that results from FB.
When I look at things like FB, cell phones and people who only know how to communicate through social media, I long for the old days when I would go to work in the morning or go fishing for the day, and nobody could reach me. My dad who fought to not get a cell phone until just a few years ago would always say, "why do I need a cell phone? If somebody died I'll find out when I get home."
