  1. Prayers goin your direction bro.
  2. Question: Why do they say that? Tire wear? pulling/drifting? Do you have stock tires/lifted? You can set toe yourself with a tape measure-kinda crude but sounds like you have another issue- it shouldn't keep losing toe adjust. If you could give me a little more info. -------------------Answering those ???'s would help alot. There is a TSB for offset balljoints TSB 02-001-02- but that would affect caster/camber, also the factory steering stabilizer shock on those is a piece of shit- we always replace them at Jeep with a heavy duty Rancho(They are actually less expensive than the junk one you get at Jeep) Give me some more info and I will check back when I get to work
  3. COOL COOL- I have a little shop now right south of there--- that conoco station on the west side of I-25 and fillmore. I got laid off ( well I actually quit due to lack of hours) in Feb. from COLORADO SPRINGS DODGE-USED TO BE CARLIN DODGE) I used to live in Henderson KY.
  4. Really? When and where DARK? Who was Jimmy Goad--he was born just 5 days after me.
  5. COOL BUD! When I first opened my shop here in Colorado thats what I did--emissions, driveability repair. I was going around to different shops at night and fixing the cars they couldn't figure out, then one day I fixed the right guy's car and he backed me financially to open my own. I was like the first driveability shop in co. springs --we wore labcoats. and everything lol
  6. Thanks Rock, lotta good people here. I have been blessed in a lot of ways---just tryin to pass it on. I just want to add also that if anyone would like a second opinion on repair estimate $$ before they get them done I can do that also. Just for peace of mind that they are not overpaying for repairs. It's tough out there right now and every dollar counts!
  7. Any one needing help-- I have been a tech for 25 years---master ASE/CHRYSLER AND GM. Owned own shop for ten years. Also did online diagnostics for awhile previously. More than happy to help!! Please include info and good description of the problem. 1. make/ model/ year 2.miles and engine size 3.description of problem and if anything has been done to it (the more info, the easier the diagnostic and more accurate)
  8. CPU cooler should be on the way today my wife has it at the office but was looking for a box to put it in. So it could be tomorrow at the latest.
  9. Yea I will help Rugger--- I am on here quite a bit and it will keep me outta trouble. lol
  10. yea blackcat I said I was in also-- let me know on the paypal thing !!!!! there is 60!
  11. Thats alot of miles-- Bud could be right. But ya have to check the basics first.
  12. WOW 2 QTS A WEEK? which plugs are fouled? Cause if they are not firing it will cause "cylinder wash" - excess fuel will cause the rings to not seal. Also they will look like that if they are not firing properly. how many miles on it? The backfirng is what makes me wonder because if the oil was causing the plugs not to fire there would be no backfire. I still think you just maybe have a severe case of a KV problem-which means plugs are not firing right. please check the wires at cap and also the distributor rotor. If you had an oil fouling problem you would get no backfire and if you had a low lobe(worn cam) you would get more backfire on high revs--- I still believe you have a simple prev. maint problem--wires/cap/rotor. Also i know this sounds dumb, but check you pcv valve- pull itout of the valve cover when it is running put your finger over the hole and see if the check valve moves. We always say--back to the basics -that is 90 % of all problems. I flip cars now and you wouldn't believe how many I get that they think are DONE and it is something simple.
  13. Damn BEERS..................but now that you mention it.....lol
  14. billyblade - new forum idea???? it occurred to me today, while i was replacing the seal for my accelorator pump on my carb, that maybe an automotive forum would be a nice touch. I know we got some mechanics who know a thing or two round here, and for those of us would be mechanics who are kinda daring( and broke) it would be nice to consult some folk before risking all on something like home auto repair. Just a thought, and BTW, I was totally successful on my repair. I BET YU HAVE A FORD--351 2barrel??
  15. I would love to see an auto tech forum ---I would be here all day lol
  16. greywolf2 Cudoo's on the repairs..... I am getting ready to pull the carbs off 3 four wheelers and do a rebuild....... 1 thing i never liked was auto mech..... Carbs are pretty simple wolf, just keep an eye on what comes out and where-sometime there are checkballs or springs--so take apart slow and atv's don't have many parts but just watch for little stupid things like a checkball somewhere. Float level is critical- if you are re-building it is usually from float being too heavy and not at right level or accelerator pump/diaphram bad. kit probably only has a couple of gaskets--universal so some might not be used---an accelerator pump, spring and sometimes a float---oh and the checkball that if you didnt see come out dont worry about it lol--make sure you get float! cause sometimes that is not included in kit, and that is what is probably going to fix your carbs--they sit and get saturated with fuel -makes them heavy and floods out. Your air fuel screw---screw all the way in -don't force it just bottom it out and then 2 full turns out -that will get you goin then you can fine tune afterwards. 1: float level critical 2: sometimes on accelerator pump- if it is plunger type and not diaphram-I rub a little vaseline on it-fuel takes it away and keeps the cup from inverting.
  17. YOU ALL ARE IN LUCK!! ONE THING I CAN DO IS FIX AUTOS. I am master ASE- L1 and L2- Chrysler and GM MASTER certified.. been sent to Chicago and MN. for tech training.also I have done online diagnostics- Owned my own shop for ten years AND can rebuild a carb with my eyes shut---that tells you how old I am- lol I have access to ALLDATA pro and Chrysler tech-connect.Been doin it for 25 years--PM ME and I will help!! Sabre---does it back fire on decel?? or when.... THE HEATER HOSE RUNS OVER THE DISTRIBUTOR ON THOSE so it cause condensation between the distributor cap and spark plug wires-- pull the coil wire and the #4 wire at the distributor cap and see if they are corrode--I have seen the coil wire corrode completely off the distributor cap.. the more info you can tell me the greater chances I can help. That is what I love to do so hit me up and I will be more than happy to help.
  18. Anyone playing in the trny this AM?
  19. Thanks johnny-- what did they start at...... 1.1?? lmao First time I've had ATI cards what a pain.
  20. I think the guy with the inner tube is my dad----no really.
  21. Bro, hang in there. We are all seeing it. I became unemployed in Feb- first time in my life and I'M 44 my wife is 54. lost my whole life savings in real estate last year. The only thing we had left was a four-plex (luckily) which we are living in now, and starting over. The one thing I learned is the REAL best time of my life was when I was the brokest. That sounds dumb and I dont know why but the little things meant alot more to me I guess.I found >XI< and there are a bunch of great people here and they genuinely care about you. We are always here to listen and help if we can.My wife is areal estate agent and am inactive at the moment but I was reading where the banks were stopping all foreclosures at the moment because of fraud--something you might check into, might get you some time? Hang in there man. You are a fighter and have that competiveness spirit- otherwise you wouldn't care and you wouldn't be here,am I right? Just keep posting and we will all get through it together. K?
  22. I'M in hope she wins --goodluck!!
