  10. HAHA I love those commercials.
  11. Well that tube is what helps heat up up your choke but it sounds like someone has put an electric choke on it--that maybe part of your mileage and high idle problem,if your choke isn't opening all the way.Let it warm up good then hit the gas lightly a couple times-take your air cleaner off and look into the carb and make sure that the choke plate(the top flap)is ALL the way open. You probably need to hook batt. voltage to the choke connector for it to open all the way. That not opening all the way will cause really bad gas mileage also it will stay on a step of the choke idle cam and cause it to idle high.
  12. Thanks Bama....I love this shit though. Yea Billy, there is something there you can fuck with....lol You need to fix all the shit you know is bad first...before the carb adjust. But to adjust carb screws on the 82 its all the same ....turn in until idle gets a little rough then 1/2 turn out.Ithink there are 2 on that carb, make sure you turn them equal--if one doesn't adjust like the other you need a carb O/H. If it has a lot of miles you might bump the timing up just a hair... a hair. lol. Alignment, tire psi and P.M. will all affect mileage, the carb adjust will only affect idle quality because your carb goes to a secondary fuel enrichment off-idle, and there is no adjustment for that on those carbs. Grab the carb and try to move it---if it moves around the underside base screws are loose, common problem especially on the inline 6 single barrel. If it is loose just take it off ,there are 4 screws on the underside, pull them out 1 at a time loctite and reinstall. You will b good. There are only 2 screws on the single barrel.
  13. I wish I could get that high.
  14. HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHAMU!!! Don't know how old you are but I have to guess it's got somethin to do with a COON'S AGE!!LOL Hope you are doing well. Your Bud that kills you all the time.
  15. I'VE GOT A 28" HANNSG I love it and it was REALLY cheap on newegg.
  16. BG44K for fuel system. Alot of people have different opinions, but mine is BG products. http://www.bgprod.com/home.html
  17. Those letters are a pretty blue..... is that magenta?
  18. I think you have fixed it -as always with new tires make sure alignment is good and ROTATE REGULARLY.Rotate is probably one of the most neglected things I found when working at the Jeep Dealership and it is really important with Jeeps because of the types of drivetrains. I think you would notice a big difference in handling with a Rancho stabilizer shock. We put them on so many, we kept them in stock at the dealer!! lol I'm glad you got it fixed. Have a good one bro!
  19. When you say the steering scares you- is it like following the grooves in the road or are you getting a severe wobble vibration in the whole jeep? Couple things-- those size of tires if you have a bad one can cause what we call a "death wobble" and it can be pretty scary, you have to slow to pretty much a stop before it quits, also the tire circumference is VERY VERY critical on jeep -between all four tires, the tread cannot deviate I believe an 8'th of an inch-- could be a quarter of an inch--I'll have to check to refresh my memory--but IT'S NOT MUCH.(this will usually cause it to not go into or out of 4wd drive very well and could tear up your drivetrain) If it is following low spots in the road and the alignment is ok it is probably the stabilizer shock.
  20. Actually Mal if there is still wire left you can solder, if not try partstrain.com they have 4 wire universals for $28.14 that you solder in(I don't know where it chewed it off at) otherwise the ones with connectors were still the cheapest- they were still at partstrain.com for only $45.00. $90.00 is pretty cheap for two sensors Hope that helped
  21. sgtdanko>xi< alright guys thanks for the responses last night before i left i swapped both b2 sensors and when i came in this mornning and fired it up sure enough the prob followed so prob solved it was bad out of box it threw a pending code for p0141 b1 instead of b2 lmao stupid defective parts thanks again guys WOOOOOOOOOOHOOO!!! Our first Diagnostic!! Cool beans Sarge, glad we could help.
  22. Come meet my "little friend" G3........ LOL
  23. BUDMAN Ok nut i need a lilttle info b4 i can help. What is the short term and long term fuel trim numbers would help, and make sure you are in closed loop (hot after drive at idle) I am thinking the cpi unit maybe taking a crap... but need more info and make sure your gas does not have to much alcohol/contaminats in fuel. hit me up anytime BUDMAN Hey Budman,I havent been with gm since 04,but I got to noticing alot of bulletins about excessive alcohol content. Are they having alot of problems with that?
  24. That could be a tough one NUT, again maybe another good one for Budman. But those had A LOT of problems with the injector poppets plugging up,leaking. GM has an upper engine cleaner that they spray in the intake and let set,as well as cleaning the poppets directly like the fuel inj. svc you normally get. Sometimes they can leak--also I have seen the fuel pressure regulator leak(it is internal in the intake manifold)Do you see any black smoke until it starts re-gaining power? 1 way to check is to open the throttle plates and have someone turn key-on-engine off while you watch down inside throttle body and see if you see fuel leaking anywhere inside. Almost bet it is one or the other. That "spider" (as we call it) is a piece of crap.I think they might even have a conversion kit to make it MFI instead of SFI.but prob. expensive. Might get you a can of that upper engine clean from gm and try running a can of BG44K through the tank, especially if you dont see fuel leak in manifold.
  25. That might be a good one for bud, but can you swap the new 02 with one of the other 02's just to eliminate the new sensor as being bad out of the box?=i have seen that.check your resistance on both the heater low circuit and the voltage circuit between there and pcm--should be no more than 3 ohms on either. If both those check out you could be looking at a pcm failure. I dont see any bulletins but BUDMAN works at chevy and probably has access to any NEW software issues--they post them seperately so only gm techs have access and i dont have that anymore.
