Osama bin Mohammed bin Awad bin Laden ?Usamah bin Mu?ammad bin ?Awa? bin Ladin; March 10, 1957 – May 2, 2011)note a[3][4][5] was the founder of al-Qaeda, the organization responsible for the September 11 attacks on the United States and numerous other mass-casualty attacks against civilian and military targets. He was a member of the wealthy Saudi bin Laden family and an ethnic Kindite.[6]
Bin Laden was on the American Federal Bureau of Investigation's lists of Ten Most Wanted Fugitives and Most Wanted Terrorists for his involvement in the 1998 U.S. embassy bombings.[7][8][9] From 2001 to 2011 bin Laden was a major target of the War on Terror, which has resulted in a total of between 80,000 and 1.2 million civilian deaths in Iraq, Afghanistan and Somalia between 2001 and 2007.

wikipedia will never be an acurate source of information, haven't they told you that in school?
There was no wiki when I was in school, there was no internet for that matter. But the nice thing about wiki is that all information is cited for verification, are we really going to suggest that it is not true? really?
WASHINGTON — Usama bin Laden (search ) made his first televised appearance in more than a year Friday in which he admitted for the first time ordering the Sept. 11 attacks and accused President Bush of "misleading" the American people.
Admitting for the first time that he ordered the Sept. 11 attacks, bin Laden said he did so because of injustices against the Lebanese and Palestinians by Israel and the United States.

I hope that puts a final end to that........
For the sake of respectful clarification I would like to explain the meaning of my previous comments. If I was from another country I would be limited by the teachings of that country, I might agree with socialism or communism as an example and I would adopt the teachings of my social surroundings. Since I am not, I can not possibly fathom why these opinions exist.
Likewise I understand that people that did not grow up in a capitalist country with generations of freedom defending war veterans and ready availability of guns and a person's personal pursuit of happiness (the right to be a billionaire or starve to death under a bridge, your choice) can not understand the visions we have. I don't care what happens in the politics or policies of other countries for the most part, but I am constantly in a state of loss why people in other countries have so much interest in ours, when they can't even begin to fathom our ideals in the same way we can't fathom thiers. Let alone so much so that they actually form opinions about it, indicating it was something they have thought about in detail, without the culture to fully understand us.
It was important to me that I make that more clear so it was delivered more as a philosophy then a personal thing, as that is the message I really wanted to convey. We did exactly what we intended to do, there was no mistake and certainly no shame or embarrassment, nothing but a smile on our face. People from another nation really have no idea what our way of life, pride, values and culture mean to us. Especially countries that have nothing in common with our international decisions over the last 80yrs.
We are at war with terrorists and will kill more in the future I promise you, and we will mean to do so, that is our intention, we want to destroy those that intend to destroy us.
I agree Primal. This was a decision not made lightly and the its outcome, as final as it was, was for the best. I still think it was a split decision by those men and it may take may years before we ever really find out.
As for America? I as a neighbor to the north, we share a great deal of the same values and beliefs, but thats not to say we dont always agree as well. Amerca is the most wealthiest, strongest and most influential country in the world and its actions or inactions effect many nations. For good or for bad, the US are always there... I personally will think its a great benefit..
Their choice to eliminate Bin Laden was a sound one. Ask yourself? If America didnt, who would have? And Bin Laden would have then most likely turned his attention on another westernized nation..maybe yours.
