  1. Thank you all for the birthday messages! I had a great day
  2. It just really sucks when the whole server empties from one person. So I can understand the frustration. If someone is too good for the server and they are interuppting the fun of everyone else, the plug needs to be pulled on them and remove them because it's just no fun for everyone when the fun gets ruined.
  3. There's a lot that goes on behind closed doors, Rob. There are things happening that even us normal admins know of or even head admins. We work tirelessly to make the servers what they are and there's a large team in place for each game for that reason. Just because something isn't acted upon immediately doesn't mean that it's not being worked on. I recently just a bunch of Quality of Life fixes to the CoD2 TDM server that have been on the backburner for a long time, and all I got was good feedback from it (after months of some players bitching). I am certain you have seen countless ban appeals on the forums and a lot of them refused and the ones that are successful really comes down to the discretion of the banning admin. This isn't aimed at you but the community as a whole: -------------------------------------------- Just because the player is good does not make them a hacker or a cheater. One thing that annoys me in the MW2 FT server is the constant accusations, the crying and the bitching players make against their own clanmates and regulars. I get it, someone is better than me (like most people ) but I am not doing myself or anyone else favours for accusing others without prior evidence given to an admin. If you suspect something, gather as much SOLID evidence that you can and come forward to an admin. There are cases an admin may not be online and sometimes there will be times where a member will have to record such players for us and come let us know and we will look into it. We cannot go by word of mouth alone. We need evidence to make an informed decision. I agree with @Ruggerxi Seeing negative things about the servers and the games does affect the mood of the whole place. I would like to see some people come up and say "hey, thanks for all the hardwork and the servers, I really like [this] and [this]." Positive feedback can go a long way. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as an admin because I enjoy hearing the positive feedback I get from my fellow admins and the players on the servers. These servers are yours as much as anyone elses and it does dishearten me when all I see is the >XI< name smeared on its own forums. A lot of people like to hop on the bandwagon and are very quick to make assumptions and post but as a tip, give yourself some time to think about the posts before you make them. We come into these servers to have fun and get away from everything.
  4. You're welcome! Happy to help you out! We're in TDM during the weekends at about 2pm GMT for a few hours and in DM during the week late at night. Hopefully see you there!
  5. Thank you hexe See you and bakke on saturday to shoot you :
  6. You cannot find the servers because you are running the wrong version of the game. You will need Version 1.3 which you can download here: Use XP compatability mode with both the single player and multiplayer exe and both should work. As for finding the servers, do you have HLSW installed? If not, you can download it here: http://www.hlsw.org/hlsw/download/ You don't have to register, you can use offline mode in the application. Once you have opened the program you will see a long address bar at the top. Put these in there one by one and HLSW will add them for you as CoD2 servers: 74.91.123.194:28960 74.91.123.221:28960 The top one is TDM and the bottom one is DM. When you join you will probably be known as Unknown Soldier, just change your name the downloads do take a while and if they fail, just reconnect and try again, you can get them; just might take a few times.
  7. Thanks for the feedback! Hopefully the changes go well and if needs be, I can alter them quickly if necessary. If there was a way to give rage quitters an hour cool down I would but so far that's not possible. Would be funny though
  8. Even better if you have an AMD card and have the Radeon Adrenaline software (which you will need anyways for an AMD card). This allows for video capture with a multitude of tweakable settings for the user if you don't want to use microsofts built in system. I use it often and its never let me down.
  9. Thank you sir! Thanks Window, I appreciate the feedback and the kind words. I'm getting the hang of this They will always bitch but it'll keep them quiet for a while. I am a young lad yes, 27 in a week and a half lol
  10. Good Evening everyone! This is just a real quick update on the CoD2 >XI< TDM Server. I have implemented some changes that have been long in the backburner. These updates include: Increased spawn timer to 8 seconds (was 5) Increased spawn protect distance to 200 feet (was 50) You now drop weapons on death so people cannot accidentally pick up someones weapon on a sniper map Slight rotation changes Unknown Soldiers are now automatically renamed to Guest_Idiot# (the # denoting what number they will be) I know these aren't big updates but they are some nice quality of life updates for us all to enjoy.
  11. Rotation has now been done and ready to go. There may be errors with IWD's but unfortunately some of that cannot be helped. We don't know what the client has on their system when they connect so it may give them issues. Loader and I will be looking at the spawn timers today and I will also bring up about the picking up weapons. I am not sure if that can be controlled server side or not. I can look at disabling all but one sniper but that means changing the whole weapon loadout system on the whole server which is something I do not want to do. I want to make minimal changes to the weapons we use due to feedback regarding the last time I enabled certain weapon loadouts. Rest assured, we'll get something going right.
  12. I'll take a look through it when I get the chance to and I am sure @loaderXI can also help you out. He has a large repository of the maps as well
  13. Just an update on the current state of the rotation. I have given @loaderXI the rotation and the maps so he can make the packs and put it on but so far, not heard back if it's done or not. I will update this post when I find out when it's done. So so far it looks like we are using the current rotation for one more weekend. Sorry folks, Loader has been busy and I don't have access to the redirect to do it myself.
  14. Take a look in our downloads section, there is a CoD2 maps area - take a look!
  15. I think I have United Offence, I'll have to take a look. Would be great if we can get a server going for it!!
  16. Hello all, Just a forewarning: I will be changing the rotation at the end of this month (June). I am open to member suggestions so if anyone would like to see a map that they haven't seen for a long time or have a favourite in particular please let me know. I also intend to make some slight changes to the spawn timers just as a trial and seeing if I can stop making people pick up someones weapon when they want to zoom out their sniper! This will once again be a 1:1 ratio of run and gun to sniper but feedback is always welcome. ~Pain
  17. When I can get my server back up and running I will and you're welcome to join. There's been times I've raged, but not yet rage quit. Currently I am on a singleplayer save, set to two players so my friend can connect and we do a peer-to-peer game.
  18. I did own a server for this, but due to lack of traffic I had to shut it down; despite advertising it on the forums! Still a great game though but I recomment the War of the Walkers Mod for it.
  19. Keep in contact with us admins and we can do something soon for sure. I wanted to try something new every few months. Just a weekend event before I change the rotation, how about we do something for that?
  20. I may be older but I still suck at the game I meant nothing disrepsectfully, we (myself, laz, window and some others) always talk shit about each other in the server, it's what we've always done. Anyway, As pman said, don't let the lack of response get you down, it's difficult to organise something on an older game with a crowd that is very much set in their ways as it were. We'll sort something out eventually. Just keep chatting with Loader and if he needs me to do anything he'll grab me on facebook or PM me here. A lot of the crowd want CTF which we've done a few times before so maybe every couple of months we mix things up a bit.

    .

This is so insightful and inspiring. Thank you for sharing this with us.
  22. You're expecting a bunch of old men doing things that they're not used to or really care for. The game is over 15 years old now. We've tried events before, and the only one that ever goes well is the Fallen Member event. It needs proper planning and also discussion within the game with the players and what they'd like going on. It's their server as much as it is ours. If there's no interest then no point in doing it. A lot of the players in CoD2 don't read the forums and due to their age not even know how to use it. We have to remind some of them to log in every now and then! The only visitors to the forums on a daily basis would be us admins. If I am doing any changes to the server such as the rotation I let the guys know at least a month in advance and do weekly reminders on the weekends. With regards to Saturdays that's the TDM lot and we're very much stuck in our ways of just doing TDM and some CTF. You're better off sorting it out for a weeknight as the DM team will be down for that. It helps to know the audience
  23. As someone who was severaly depressed and suicidal a good 5-6 years ago now, I can tell ya, it isn't easy. I really feel for you fuckstick, going through that loss of a friend in such a way is terrible. I almost offed myself a few years ago, planned it out and everything but the one thing that stopped me was that I didn't want my mom to be sad. And such a silly sounding thing was the one key thing that kept me on this earth. Now I have so many more reasons. It took me three sets of therapy and a different assortment of medications and massive life changes to get me better and to where I am now. There IS help out there for people who need it, but I hate the stigma of "man up" or "get over it." Stuff like that doesn't help. Yes I am better than I was 5-6 years ago but I am a long way from being top-ticket. I get bad bouts; ended up in hospital last November because of my anxiety and depression and only recently finished therapy and getting help. I hear you there completely Timmah, it changes you but you can get through it, you and I are living examples that this stuff is possible to get through. The help I got got me through it and taught me so many life lessons that I try to pass on to others when they too are troubled.
  24. I am sure @loaderXI has it saved somewhere. You could also take a look on the redirect? I know Loader and I managed to salvage some really old maps, one of them being Glamorgan - one we both thought was lost.
  25. That explains how bad the server for a few weekends ago, peoples pings were hitting way into the 300's, if not more. I'll let you know if anything like it happens again. Last time it happened I did a server restart; it helped a tiny bit but it came back.
