So my daughter, who has a master's in nursing and is a practitioner, meets what seems to be a nice guy who is a manager for a well-known local auto dealer. She's 39, the mother of three, but still quite beautiful. Two months ago he takes her on a vacation to a casino in Indiana, gets drunk, and suddenly, he becomes this insanely jealous asshole who accuses her of all manner of shit and shoves her onto the bed. She grabs the phone to call 911 and he pulls it out of the wall. So she locks herself in the bathroom and calls the cops; and has him arrested for battery. With no prior record, he gets off next day with a year's probation and they return to TN. After a month, and despite my advice to dump this idiot, she agrees to try again and goes on a cruise with him last week. Same shit; gets drunk and calls her the foulest of names and again shoves her. They get back and she finally tells him he's done. This idiot then starts posting suggestive pictures (nothing pornographic) on his Facebook page and begins a campaign of harassment there. She showed up earlier this evening in tears because this jerk has more than 700 "friends" who are seeing this shit. So here's what I did. I texted him that unless every reference to and photo of her was deleted from his page tonight, I would be in tomorrow to see his boss, who I know personally, and advise him of the arrest and probation, his drinking problem, and that I was doing all I could to prevent my daughter's friends from beginning a Facebook campaign against his dealership. He replied he would take the pictures down, but one of his friends who was watching his page for me advised he had not. I texted him back that in addition to having his job, I would send the arrest report to each of his 700-plus friends, whose images and names I copied from his friends list; would file additional assault charges which, with the probationtary status out of state, would immediately land him in jail, and then provide the arrest information and his serious drinking problem to his former wife so that she could sue for full custody of their children. The pictures were gone in fine minutes. My last text to him advised that should they ever resurface in any form, or, if he attempted any further contact with her, all of the above would occur. All in all, I think I handled that fairly well.
