Of course I'm speaking for myself. I didn't quote anybody. The admin manual makes a distinction between the banter of good friends calling each other names which we all do, and someone just being an "asshole." These players are complaining about an XI member either drunk or on drugs spewing a lot of garbage, personally attacking people and generally disrupting gameplay, driving people from our server. That shouldn't be allowed, and it wouldn't be if I witnessed it.

Here we have two players with a legitimate complaint about someone acting like an asshole and they are told to grow a pair? We have a section of the admin manual that addresses just this situation: XI does not tolerate disrespect by members or guests, and insists on good sportsmanship If we banned everyone who disrespected someone in some way, we would have few players left on our servers. This rule intends to get rid of players who are a constant and continued disruptive influence on our servers, so-called assholes, whose behaviour, over time, takes the fun out of the game and drives others away - perhaps because they are constantly rude to players they do not know, or are constantly running their mouths, etc. As with other rules, your discretion is the determining factor. If you receive complaints about a particular player being a constant nuisance on our servers, you should observe that player and satisfy yourself as to whether the complaints are justified BEFORE you act. Then, warn, kick and ban as necessary - let them come to the forums to explain themselves. It doesn't matter if the person disrupting the game and taking the fun out of it for others is a member. And it shouldn't matter if the folks complaining about an asshole are not members. The problem should be dealt with. No one wants to put up with this kind of crap and they shouldn't have to.

I was in game at the time and knew what was going on, but didn't spec him. I just watched the video and he clearly knew he was cheating, picking players off who could not see him. I hate it for him but I think that particularly unpardonable for someone who knows he's under consideration for membership. If there was a vote on this, I'd have to vote to keep the ban at least for some period of time and then he's let back in to wait yet more time before he is again approached. I wouldn't do that for someone we don't know. But he's been around long enough for us to get to know him and I think he just got his head up his ass and sincerely regrets it. I trust him when he says he'll never do it again.
