I'm not sure why this never gets old but somehow it doesn't. Local group of folks here in MD played in 1988+ on our Mac II's in glorious 640x480 8-bit color the '"massively" multiplayer online game' AirWarrior on GEnie via a 2400 Baud (and also 2400bps) modem, $300/mo access bills. Lots o' fun!
