I am having to say goodbye to my 1999 Corolla.... not like my 89 Accord but still. My poor Corolla is in mint condition and clean as hell... ask Bob Barker. She only had 196,345 miles but that is very low. She was fun to drive and topped out at 115mph on the dot. With a full load with all I owned a few times she could get to 108mph. 5 speed manual, 1.8l I she was fun to drive.
I lived in her for 1.5 months during a tough time. It was 20 degrees at night a few times and all my windows INSIDE were full of frost from my breath. Have you ever had to scrape your window from the inside? lol
She has got me back and forth to Virginia Beach and back to Texas a few times and Kentucky one time with ZERO problems. Why all the moving.. see have even quite States before. hahahha
Last Saturday something bad happened to her.. it was a progressing problem. I been hearing my valves clatter for years and she burned oil the day I got her. The clattering a few months ago got louder but I thought also I was just being paranoid and dismissed it. Nothing I could do anyway.
Well Juju and I were headed to San Marcus Texas about 1.5 hours away... I get a hair up my butt and step on it. I used my newish GPS and it recorded the fastest she will ever go again.
We get to the Outlet Mall and do our thing then head home. This is when things got ugly. You have to go up a very long hill that last for miles. I felt a lack in power but thought it was the AC, JuJu and the hill combined. lol We get up the hill but went from 70mph to 45mph. I was having a hard time getting up the hill and when I get over it and start heading down... I started to hear a loud noise... VERY LOUD... I looked at Juju and said.. Car's dead. She said, "What"... not sure if I was joking or not. I said.... I just blew a rod. Coasted down hill and could still drive the car enough to get to a safe place to stop. Bill came with his truck and he towed me home. He owes me for all the Printer support I gave him.
Been looking for a new friend. Thought I found her till I filled her with gas.. it all stated to come out. I took that care back and fortified my $46 dollars in gas. It is very hard looking for a used car but I found one. She is a brand new... 2000 Civic HB. Only has 163000 miles on her.... she's a Honda so that is like new car. hahahaha
The wheels are from a Mini Cooper.... still not sure what to think about that but they sure handle good. It is a hatch back so Brutus who lost weight... now only 111lb can fit in the back with the seats down like a bed.
Hard to say goodbye and it takes to long to get to know a new friend. But I can tell I already lover her.
This car has never leaked oil.. until 2 days ago. when I started it up to show someone how bad she sounded... hhahaha I think I broke her some more. hahahah
The HXTR in the side maker light I put on after the lens cap popped off (a corolla thing like the inside and outside door handles) and I just happened to see it in the ditch. I figured I should put my name on it on the inside.
Last year I just bought bran new Michelin tires so I was not sure about these guys... until I drove on them. So Juju got an upgrade to her car. I paid $460 for my tires.. so now her car is worth $460. hahahaha
She had two blow outs this day.... one right after this one. Why dont people buy good tires.
I will be pulling parts like CV Axle's and rack and pinion as hers is almost shot. She might be able to get $461 after I do that to it. Moral to the story... Juju needed new tires bad.
