if you still have your old pc kopy everything from that create a shared folder within your own network and copy your usermap folder and player folder to the new pc. asuming you stil have the old pc with a cd dvd drive get a usb stick 16gb will be enough copy all the content from the cd too that drive and put that in your new pc and run the instalation. run patch 1.6 amd 1.7 and then copy the usermap folder too the directory and copy your playerfolder as wel and you are good to go and play again

that cpu is a good choice it keeps up a good pace with a AMD 3900x combining that with a good NVME drive like a samsung 980 pro and 16 gb ddr4 3600mghz and maybe a 3070 or 3080 if you look for good deals the case i would go for a meshify or a corsair airflow one with some nice rgb fan kit tip for looking for those kits get the one where you can hook each fan too the motherboard itself not the ones where you hook it all to one device and one fan header. oh and about the windows key https://www.windowscentral.com/how-transfer-windows-10-license-new-computer-or-hard-drive Gr Dessy happy building .

@BlackRose so just to test it out i installed cod4 again just to test it out windows 10 Pro 64 installed the game from the usb drive (had to find it first then blown the dust of it haha) installed patch 1.6 then patch 1.7 ran the game and yes it works no issues at all side note this was a fresh install with windows fully updated also grapich card drivers fully updated .

ah yes the online profile from the servers that authenticates you could be both our host and the master servers having issues then again i would be not suprised activision terminating the master servers in the near future like EA did with the serverlist in moh back in the day.

i asume this was with the steam versions? i never had any issues with installing cod4 or 5 on a windows 7/8/10 machine the way i do it 1 : a usb drive with a copy of the game reason i dont have a dvd drive in my system it contains the game i made that years ago just open the cd with finder copy all content to that drive while your at it download the patches 1.6 and 1.7 too so you have everything on that drive also make a text document with the cd key on it and put our player folder also there. 2: install from that drive instal everything but do not run the game at all so let it run put your key finish instalation. 3: run the the 1.6 patch do noit start the game 4: run the 1.7 patch 5:copy the player folder to the games folder 6: start the game i did thhis many times this way and never failed me hope the info helped backing up the usermap folder you need a really big drive we have a lot of maps running last time i checked my cod4 usermap folder (the map where all the xi cod4 maps are stored) was over 300gb Gr Dessy

you dont need to do that at all one can just open the cd with finder and then copy all content to a usb drive and then run the executable from that drive . download and install the patches you only need the 1.6 patch and the 1.7 so inatll 1.6 and 1.7 (1.6 has all the previous in one) put your saved mp cfg in there and your saved usermap folder and you are good to.

you have the cd drive right on your old pc just copy that cd to a usb stick and then install from that in your new pc backing up your profiles is easy just copy everything froom the player folder while your at it copy the usermap folder as wel so you dont have to donwload all the maps from the server.

i guess one must get lucky to get a 3000 series card i got mine 2 weeks ago talked to the customer service to confirm my order and he said i got lucky it was the last one they had 1000 came in where sold in 10 min.
