Nice setup! I have my entire rack system in the attic at the moment, unfortunately. The turntable and the LP's are the only thing in the house (better climate control in the house). I had to downsize when I had kiddos. I'd LOVE to get my old stereo up and running again. Maybe I'll set it up in the garage for when I'm working out there. I have about 75-100 LPs. I'll have to go dig them out and snap a pic of them.

I was AMD/ATi for a VERY long time. Mainly due to cost and being poor. That has changed. It's been at least 3 computer builds not, that I have not used either. I mst say, I'm not saddened in the least. I have not seen an AMD/ATi combo, outperform an Intel/nVidia combo, in a very long time. I will put my i5-9600K with my 16GB Ram and nVigia GTX1070 up against the newest AMD/ATi computers, and probably will see mine outperform the other. I've contemplated going back, but I just couldn't justify it. I'm running a i5 9600K, a GTX 1070 and a 500GB Samsung 970 EVO nVME PCI-e M.2 2280. Running WIndows 10 Pro 64 bit, it fires up cold boot to usable in 17 seconds!!! The motherboard I have will allow me to go up to the latest i9 processor for future upgradeablilty as well. That all being said, Nice build X-Ray!! Will keep him into gaming for a long time to come!!!

What video card do you have. Technology has gotten to the point that you almost need to match the monitor's abilities to what the video card is, and is capable of!! ASUS 144hz monitors are the best, in my opinion. I've heard really good things about the HP Omen line as well. That being said, I LOVE my Samsung monitor...have had it for a very long time with no screen blur or burn in. BenQ are budget monitors. If you really have that $1000 max spending limit, go with an ASUS ROG 144hz or a HP Omen 144 hz monitor. EDITED: I posted this before seeing SixGun's post. Even that article lists the BenQ as the budget monitor lol Also has multiple ASUS monitors on that list Personally, I would shy away from anything like a monitor as "budget". When I was talking about the video card capabilities and the monitor capabilities, do some research into G-Sync vs Free Sync (https://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/freesync-vs-g-sync/)

PFFFFT!!!! I built my old rig back in November 2007!!! It was a Core2Quad Q6600! It was upgraded to 8GB RAM and a GTX 560 Superclocked (from dual 8800 GT OC). Runs CoD 4 and CoD 5 fine. Even runs games up to Fallout 4 and Wolfenstein New Order and Old Blood. But beyond that, it was not good for gaming anymore.

You shouldn't need the SSD for storage. Only really useful for boot times. Look into a Western Digital Black drive for storage. Need to do that to my previous computer, and clean up the wiring to make me feel better about it!! Need to wait until it warms up a bit though, because I really don't want the multiple inches of accumulated dust blown around my house! LOL
