  1. Nope, I always try to keep my driver up to date. Did you do this? [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\DriverSearching] "SearchOrderConfig"=dword:00000000 or did you? Click Start, right-click Computer, and then click Properties. In the Tasks list, click Advanced System Settings. On the System Properties dialog box, click the Hardware tab, and then click Device installation settings. Select No. or? Open Group Policy Management Editor. In the navigation pane, open Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\Internet Communication Management\Internet Communication settings. In the details pane, double-click Turn off Windows Update device driver searching. a.To turn off searching Windows Update, click Enabled. b.Click OK to save your settings. Best regards Souriel
  2. Wow! Thank you all! It feels really good to be an xtremeidiot! JohnnyDos: for some of you guys, plz call me Squirrel because some of you have major issue to pronounce my name right... Best regards Souriel (Squirrel) PS. BTW this is how an squirrel looks in Sweden.
  3. Try to put one on the front and that should blow in.
  4. Haha, I can translate that to Swedish if you like that better?! Goddamn English nerds
  5. Hehe... Got any good story behind that comment? best regards
  6. Hope you find some truth in this tread Mr.AyeAyeRon.
  7. did it work out for u Gg?
  8. Should help, double check if ur administrator. otherwise login with admin account and change the rights for ntfs and share.
  9. Yep this I would do. But like HXTR said: if it still works...
  10. I love Win10, see no issue with it... btw this time people were in on helping MS to get Windows10 like people wanted it, sure if you are paranoid u need to turn off som privacy shit like telemetry and stuff but otherwise its working like a charm. Need to says this too, it is always this kind of drama when something new is coming... before before windows 10 it was windows 8 and yeah i missed the start button feature but win8 was really fast. And windows 7 that everyone loves.. atm yeah... but not at the beginning... has to end sometime? right?! How many fixes and patches had MS deployed over the years for windows 7? Before that it was windows Vista and yeah it was slow like hell in the beginning but they fix that in the end and MS learned from it. And Windows XP... shit that was a really good OS at the END, but how many fixes and patches had the deployed over the years here too? Because it was shit in the beginning! It was alot of BSODs and alot drivers missing and it was wrong coded... so on.. and people hated the new look etc. Now to the Millenium Ed... harkl.. that was pure shit!!! Sure they put an nice overlay so it looked nice.. suschhs...still shit!! Anyway over to Windows 98 SE hell yeah!! Now we talking! Almost everybody loved Win98se because it was so alike win95 that many liked but some differences under the hood. I can keep on doing this to windows 3.0...that I have tried and run with, many people dont like new looks and features, i can understand that. But, are u driving an old car from 40:s or are u driving a newer car with smarter functions like AC-conditioning, 6 gear, more economic and much more secure and so on? These days people are much more used to write on a keyboard and thats why in win10 they want u to search for what ever u are looking for directly in start-menu, not search for it in the start-menu that takes like 10 minutes before u find it. Just write it and it will popup. (most of the time) LOL I am as u probably know by now an IT-engineer and a extreme Gamer, it is so much smart functions and security features that are supposed to make it easier and keep us more secure from the outside evil internet, not making it harder for us. Sorry for my bad English btw! Best regards Souriel
  11. This is not a definitive list of things that will definitely boost your FPS, the solutions may help those experiencing unexpected low performance or stuttering. I will continue to update this. ShadowPlay or PlaystVIt seems ShadowPlay has been causing huge FPS drops for SOME people(reducing frames by like 50) for whatever reason. Make sure you have it disabled until Nvidia releases a driver update. I haven't seen many problems from AMD users but this might also apply to Raptr/PlaysTV, so disable these. To see how to disable ShadowPlay see this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7ej-SBLpzY Drivers - Latest: AMD [16.10.3] 26th October, nVidia [375.70] 28th October Even if you have the latest drivers, I recommend re-installing them using the method below. The auto-update or manual update of drivers (even if you uninstall the old ones first) can be problematic due to old remnants being left in your system somewhere. Fully re-install your Nvidia/AMD drivers using DDU tool found here: http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html Run the program, it will reboot into safe mode and fully remove any trace of the old driver, then download the latest drivers from Nvidia or AMD. !!!!! Always use DDU when updating or changing drivers !!!!! Alternatively you could try some older drivers out, remove your current drivers (as above) then grab older drivers from these links: Nvidia [http://www.guru3d.com/files-categories/videocards-nvidia-geforce-vista-%7C-7.html] or AMD [http://www.guru3d.com/files-categories/videocards-ati-catalyst-vista-win-7.html] High/100% CPU usage - FIX 1 (EA are aware of this and will patch in due course)Make a file name 'user.cfg' and place it in your Battlefield 1 folder, add the following lines: gametime.maxvariablefps 60 RenderDevice.RenderAheadLimit 1 We're using 60 to limit the FPS, ideally you want this to match your refresh rate. If you're using a higher frequency display (i.e. 144hz) see if you get stable results at 60, then increase it gradually. The RenderDevice.RenderAheadLimit is actually 0 by default, experiment with values 1,2 and 3. You can also also change these values in nVidia/AMD control panel if you prefer, there's a discussion on this here: https://forums.battlefield.com/en-us/discussion/42847/high-cpu-usage-low-fps-potential-fix/p1 High/100% CPU usage - FIX 2 Only one or two verified cases of this working but... try increasing your memory frequency within your BIOS, the XMP profiles should make this easy. Google search for specific instructions for your motherboard. Overclocking CPUs (especially voltages) has been causing the game to crash. Try downclocking/volting. Graphical Glitches on Aimens (AMD Specific)If you're experiencing large 'sun' like light on your screen (http://i.imgur.com/nmEF0Bf.jpg), or your screen going blue, black or red - try putting your lighting settings on Ultra. You can leave the other settings as they are, it fixed it for me and others but isn't definitive. This won't work if you apply mid game, you'll need to restart first. Other Tips Disable Origin in-game, it's been causing DirectX crashes and is quite buggy right now. You an still alt-tab to accept invites etc. Disable all notifications too as they will minimize your game. Try running the game in Borderless or Windowed Mode, this has improved FPS for some. Make sure there is no memory limits in your BF1 advanced settings, either match it to your VRAM or set it to unrestricted. Toggle DX12 on or off (Windows 10 only), you might see huge gains either way depending on drivers and hardware. In Windows 10, make sure Xbox GameDVR is disabled. https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=6239-DZCB-8600#xboxapp Unpark your cores (Windows 7 and 10) install ParkControl https://bitsum.com/parkcontrol/ Make sure parking is disabled http://i.imgur.com/MfrLUrt.png and hit 'Apply', you may also want to adjust Frequency Scaling so it's always giving 100%, change this http://i.imgur.com/BT0TXfP.png and hit 'Apply'. Bear in mind this will use more power as your CPU won't dynamically alter clock speed. Please note to force constant max CPU performance (either by setting the Frequency Scaling to 100% in ParkControl, or by setting the 'Minimum CPU' state to 100% in your power settings: http://i.imgur.com/cefxdV4.png ) you MUST have C1E DISABLED and EIST ENABLED within your BIOS, you should be looking for something like this: http://i.imgur.com/QLHv2pf.jpg (please check the edits at the bottom for more info on power states) If you have an i7 CPU, make sure Hyperthreading is enabled in your BIOS. Unplug or disable your second/third monitor. People have reported a 20+ FPS drop just from having a second monitor plugged in. It's also worth adding that if you mirror the game on two screens with different frequencies you'll always have stutter. Other (unverified) solutions Disable Superfetch in Windows http://www.technipages.com/windows-enable-disable-superfetch Do this last, re-enable it if it has no effect. Windows Audio Device Graph Isolation has caused stutter in Battlefield 4 and other games, you could try turning it off: http://www.howtogeek.com/273764/what-is-windows-audio-device-graph-isolation-and-why-is-it-running-on-my-pc/ If you're using an older overclocked i5/i7 chip (2600k era etc.), you may see some benefits in disabling C3 and C6 power states in your BIOS. This is from BF forums. :-)
  12. I dont agree with the i3, if you running an i3 your CPU will go on its knees atleast in BF4 and BF1 games. I totally agree here, you should prob wait for Kaby Lake release then. The K processors are a little bit faster in stock clock even if you wont clock its faster then without K. Although i should be looking at i7-6600(K) or i7-6700(K) because here you got the Hyperthreading that BF4 and Bf1 are using that will make ur BF run a bit smoother. :-) (^^ just an example) Maybe your are playing mindcraft then you dont need so much power... but what do i know... LOL Motherboards: u dont need Z170 if you arent overclocking, you manage really good with an B150 or H170 motherboard. (a little cheaper then z170) Best regards Souriel
