Where are all my late night COD compadres? Joe, Spanky, Bart, Paperman? 9:30pm (PST) on a Sunday night and not one player. I play earlier sometimes but I grow tired of the camping, whining and being called a cheater in so many ways. Just for the record, I don't consider Pete (or whatever his name is this week) a camper. IMO a camper is someone who sits in one place, waits for regular players to run by and shoots them. Usually from a higher vantage point. To me, it should not be part of the game but I have to tolerate and learn to have fun regardless. I must say that I have been having fun in the COD5 servers lately, but there still isn't anything like our COD2 DM server!

Valley Summer and Death Star are without a doubt the most boring and useless maps EVER! I was on the server last night (Saturday) from 8:30pm to 1:30am (PST). Not one person showed up. I ended up playing COD5 instead. Isn't it about time for a new set of maps on the DM server?

The COD2 DM server is really in need of a new map refresh. We have been playing the same maps for quite some time now.

I don't recall the name of the map but it is the one were we all choose Russian SMG's and toss nades into the spawns. I experienced several deaths by tripwire and mines on that map right after spawning! While I'm all for anything that discourages camping, I certainly don't like dying within a step or two of spawn. I actually believe that more than 75% of my deaths on that map were due to tripwires in spawns, mines in spawns and nades tossed into spawns. That takes a lot of the fun out of the game for me.

I realize that I have very little or no say here but in my experience most people don't care for that map.

... why is the map "Valley Summer" still on the COD2 DM server? What a bore-fest and waste of 20 minutes that is. When that map comes up players either leave or take a break.

Hmmm, Welllllllllllll, first and foremost, I don't hate campers (or anything else for that matter) it's just a very annoying and unnecessary part of this game. Secondly, I'm not certain what is being said here. Am I being indirectly accused of something or what? My deaths almost always either equal or exceed my kills in-game. In this particular case I believe it's a ping related issue. I believe that it is a bit of a stretch to say that a clip is unloaded on anyone at any given time. I have trouble hitting players that have an extremely low ping or an extremely high ping. It becomes a timing issue and you need to compensate. Now if I am questionable on any level, please by all means check me out. I don't even consider myself that good of a player, I just have persistence ... ask any camper, LoL!

I actually don't mind campers because they are perfect for my "game style", (whatever that means) but Glove is right, sometimes too many campers make some maps unbearable. And the do win quite often LOM, just ask MacDaddy or the worst camper/salsa/cha cha cha dancer: Pete the Pimp. Just watch a minute of this and you will know what I mean by that :-) This guy + a gun + adm hack = an instant Pete the Pimp. Joe said it, it had to be said ... I think Pete is mild compared to CampDaddy. LoL!

Glove at least you can play. I can't even install this game on my pc as it has issues with Windows 7! I've been playing COD2 just fine on my Windows 7 hard disk for quite some time now ... no probs

It would be nice to see an anti-camping mod on our COD DM server. I saw one on some other server a while back. I thought it was a great idea then and an even better one now. Either that or the campers would have to wear a bright orange jumpsuit with KOA stamped on the back to be eligible to play on the DM server.

Issue resolved! I re-booted the comp and the issue seems to have disappeared. Thanks

I was playing on the DM server today and after a couple of games at normal flow I started lagging real bad. I stopped playing, logged out, logged back in and the same thing was happening -- bad lag. I quit the game so that I could check my connection with everything else on my comp. Everything else was okay, my internet connection was fast and snappy, XFire worked correctly and nothing else was askew. I started up the game again and experienced really bad lag without even logging into the server. I reset my graphics with no luck and I even put them in "Optimal Settings" (wow, I could never play that way) and nothing I tried got me back to normal. The only thing I noticed being different about the server was that there where several high ping players (over 120 ping) on at the time this issue started. Take into consideration that all my other internet functions are normal and I use a high speed Verizon FiOS connection. Can anyone assist? Thank you

How about bolt action rifles only! and for fuck sake, some nades to pick off the upper tier campers!

You know, there is a mod that I saw quite a while back on some non-XI server that did not allow camping. I can't remember what happened if you camped but man would that be a great idea for our DM server.

It's bad enough to have to play with shot guns and shitty rave music but IMO, NO map should be without nades!

Yeah, there certainly are some crappy maps now. Some are good but some should probably go.

I have also resorted to playing COD WAW or just taking a break when sniper or shot gun maps come up. Is there any way we can just get rid of shot gun and sniper maps? Maybe the shot guns can be modded to fire just like the M1 I use very few nades but I feel that they should be on every map. I mostly play late at night and on weekends. Joe and Spanky need their nades just like I need my rifle butt

Yes, as a beer connoisseur I would also like to know what kind/brand of beer you guys have on the table.
