Mod For The PPSh-41
MrCrowe replied to Spartacus's topic in Call of Duty 2's Call Of Duty 2 Discussion
Upon further review, I believe we should bring the Ping Compensator (PPHs) back to stock and just deal with the 50 and below pingers. Additionally, having the PPHs the way they are now also gives our 2 or 3 dormant players (campers) a reason to continue their tactics. There's no fight involved, just pick your campground, get comfortable and spray away. -
Mod For The PPSh-41
MrCrowe replied to Spartacus's topic in Call of Duty 2's Call Of Duty 2 Discussion
I started using the PPSh when we changed servers and my ping went from 50 to 100. I call the gun "The Ping Compensator". Before that, I used the Garand with good enough results for my taste. With the type of fighting that I enjoy and the ping that I now have, I'm just not fast enough or good enough to enjoy much success using just the Garand or K98. Even when I play well I die more than anyone else. I seem to remember the Garand being more effective a few years back. I'm fine with whatever we decide. I'll try to become more effective with the lesser output weapons. -

Gaming headset recommendation
MrCrowe replied to MrCrowe's topic in Call of Duty 2's Call Of Duty 2 Discussion
I decided on the Logitech G35. They work very well, fairly comfortable and the sound is good. My only complaint is the connector. Thanks everyone! -
Gaming headset recommendation
MrCrowe replied to MrCrowe's topic in Call of Duty 2's Call Of Duty 2 Discussion
Thanks Bart! Do you get 7.1 sound from COD2? Is the headset comfortable on the ears and head? Thanks man :-) -
I am looking to buy an updated gaming headset. I currently use an old Plantronics GameCom Pro 1. Any suggestions for a good sounding, comfortable headset for gaming? Thanks

COD2 MAP DOWNLOAD SECTION
MrCrowe replied to loaderXI's topic in Call of Duty 2's Call Of Duty 2 Discussion
Thanks for all of your hard work Loader, it is truly appreciated. Personally I like most small and medium maps, the less camp sites, the better. I find the Medal of Honor map conversions pretty interesting. Cheesy is too small sometimes but I have grown to appreciate it. I enjoy maps like Industry and can't stand maps like Mechanica. I will try to check out the download section time permitting. Thanks again for all you do -
Thank you everyone!

COD2 did not quit properly ...
MrCrowe replied to MrCrowe's topic in Call of Duty 2's Call Of Duty 2 Discussion
Nitro, There are no virtual machines. I have MacOS loaded on one hd and Windows 7 on another. I choose which to load at start up. The FireWire system has always been there. I run the game on the Windows HD. During my research regarding this issue, I actually found an article that stated unplugging the headphones and replugging would solve the issue. -
COD2 did not quit properly ...

Loader, I haven't changes any hardware or updated any drivers. I do have an Intel system but this issue went away before and now it's back consistently. -
COD2 did not quit properly ...
MrCrowe replied to MrCrowe's topic in Call of Duty 2's Call Of Duty 2 Discussion
I am running the game from the hard drive. I did everything prescribed above and the error persists. It might be important to note that I run the audio through a Firewire Audio mixer and then out to my speakers. I haven't used headphones for a while. I'm not sure what happened to my system that makes this error stick. I have had the error in the past and simply clicking no would get rid of it. My comp is a hybrid Mac/Windows comp that I made a few years back. It has been super reliable up until just recently. Don't get me wrong, I can launch and play the game, it's just annoying to have the error message. -

The game does not crash. I say no every time and the error persists. -
Anyone know how to get rid of this error? "it appears that Call of Duty 2 did not quit properly the last time it ran ...

European Vacation 2014 (suggestions from European players wanted)
MrCrowe replied to MrCrowe's topic in General Discussion
Fire, this will be my 3rd time visiting your beautiful country. Country of my ancestors :-) I have stayed in Edinburgh and in Glasgow. I've seen most of the common sites. We have an ancient family castle just outside of Dumfries called Caerlaverock Castle (House of Maxwell). I really felt a strong connection in Scotland. I truly wish there was a way that I could live there. This time I may visit Aberdeen and parts of Edinburgh that I missed before. What is the weather like in late May? Thanks and Slainte Mhath!
